I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks in May and I am currently going through my 2nd miscarriage at 4 weeks + 5 days and can’t help but think what is wrong with me?? 😭😭😭

I dealt with the first one because I thought it can be quite normal to have 1 but now I’ve had 2 it’s got me worrying that something is wrong with me and I’m never gonna get my rainbow baby πŸ’”πŸ’”

Please tell me your stories, successful of not. I need to just relate to people who have been through the same thing. It’s killing me πŸ˜”

Well I had 3 miscarriages each 3/4 months apart. It turned out there was something wrong - I have a blood condition I didn't know about that causes miscarriage. Once I was tested, I fell pregnant again, received the right treatment and now have a 1 year old sleeping upstairs.

3 miscarriages is actually quite rare - about 1 % of women, So chances are high that you are both likely to have successful pregnancies next time round.

Don't loose hope, look after yourselves physically and mentally and it will happen, even if its a really tough journey to get there, its worth it.

I had two mc at 11 weeks and 6 weeks following on from each other in 2018, it was really hard but we tried again and I now have an 11 month old. Be kind to yourself, do whatever you need to and remember that there's usually no rhyme or reason to it, just bad luck. I did go to my lovely gp and check a few things and she was great. I took some good quality vitamins by viridian and tried to relax about it but who knows what helped the third time. Sending hugs and best wishes your way xxx

I am very sorry for your losses OP and notpsychic. For DH and me it was miscarriage; first child; miscarriage; miscarriage; second child, over four years. Whether I should have been or not, I was referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic after miscarriage number three (I never needed to ask whether Trust guidelines were three miscarriages in a row or three in total but three was some sort of threshold number). I can say that grieving with empty arms after a longed for pregnancy is the most hollowing, distressing experience I have known. The pain was a little less after having our first child but obviously still there. If you think it would help, the Miscarriage Association website has a lot of support materials. I think from our experience I would say don’t leave it late to be checked out and there are things which can be done to address identified underlying issues. And I know 3-4 friends who have had multiple miscarriages so I don’t think it is rare. I hope things come good for you both.

I had 2 miscarriages, saw the heartbeat with the first at 8 weeks (had an early scan due to spotting) but then found out I had miscarried at 12 weeks scan and had to have surgical management. Had another 5 months later, again had an early scan due to spotting, no heartbeat and miscarried naturally a few days later. I drove myself mad looking up statistics and reading threads like this. With my third pregnancy, conceived 3 months after second MC, I was on eggshells for weeks, couldn't imagine that I would actually end up with a baby, didn't have any morning sickness etc (hadn't with the first 2 either) and was convinced I was going to miscarry again. Weirdly what comforted me was the thought that after 3 miscarriages I would be eligible for referral to the recurrent miscarriage clinic. I didn't miscarry and I now have an 8 month old baby asleep upstairs. You just need to keep the faith that it will happen for you even if it currently feels impossible.

Congratulations Nannon that's brilliant news.

I'm in the same position. I had a MC in march and lost twins in June at 10 weeks. I'm now pregnant again - only 6 weeks but I'm terrified. Every cramp I have I'm convinced it's all over. Tomorrow will be the same day of pregnancy as my 1st MC so if I can get passed that I might relax a little but I will still stress until I manage to get passed 10 weeks.

I hope you are managing ok X x

@Quail15 my fingers are crossed for you. I’m exactly the same. I just can’t get excited. The furthest I’ve been is 5.5 weeks so if I get to like 6/7 weeks then I think I’ll get a little bit excited but not till I see a scan
