I was doing so well and now I've spent 2 weeks sabotaging it! It was the bloody scales that did it; I weighed myself and the thought process was "oh fab I've lost lots, that means I can go off and eat whatever the fuck I like."

I'm weighing myself in the morning and I know there will be tears. Any advice for how I turn it around? I'm so worried my motivation is all gone after 2 weeks of "one more day and I'll get back on it". Today was going to be the day but I've had a cornetto, a chocolate mini roll, a jammie dodger and a kinder bueno.

I'm practically in tears ffs. I've tried and failed so many times and I told myself this would be the last time. I have 2 young DC and I don't want to have a heart attack or end up with T2 diabetes. They deserve better!

Told you I was a twat.

Well despite a McDonald's on Sunday (burger, fries, mcflurry) I have lost 6 pounds in the last week!!!

I'm so motivated to carry on too Smile

I've also been waking up with headaches and feel pretty shitty today.

I've had a couple of fat bombs as snacks. they are a bit weird/full on but at least it's break from nuts and cheese. Looking forward to just bootcamping tomorrow

Thanks for the link hazchem. Uber camp sounds like it would be fab for a kick start. I'm a bit wary of it though because I really don't do hunger well...it tends to trigger massive carb binges!

I'm pleased to say that on day 4 of being back on track my splitting headache has gone...woo hoo!!

I have had a couple of handfuls of nuts though Blush I'm struggling with what to eat for snacks other than cheese. I'm still needing a morning and afternoon snack but don't want egg because I eat eggs for breakfast, and too much cheese will slow down my weight loss.

I'm going to weigh myself on Tuesday to make sure what I'm doing is working, then I'm putting the scales away.

Yes the Icecreams sound very very carby. When I need an icecream treat I smash frozen rasberries into double cream. Very rich but super tasty. Not good on bootcamp but ok for bootcamp lite.

Uber bootcamp is 3 very strict bootcamp days. on the spreadsheet of fabulousness there is a tab with menus and shopping lists.

Basically 3 days of only 3 meals, no dairy (butter allowed) no snacking. I've found doing it helpful in the past. I;ve picked these three days because it's ramadan so partner is eating during the day then he is doing afternoon shift so is eating at work.

My biggest plan for this evening is dinner put small boy to bed, quick tidy, then study til 8:30 pm, then watch broadchurch (in Oz) and not have a glass of red wine

I weigh myself a couple of times a week tilly. Weighing doesnt do me any good though because the number on the scale is always an excuse for a carb binge!

I really need to work on weighing less, but I'm worried that without the scales I won't know if the diet is working or not until months have passed!

Banana ice lollies sound fab but bananas are really carby and definitely not allowed on bootcamp.

Thanks pickles, will give it a try Smile

yes overripe is fine.. you can either just slice and freeze and eat ( I think they are yum like this)
or, ice cream recipe: freeze 4 ripe bananas (sliced) mix in processoer with 1/2 cup almond milk (or regular milk) , 1 tsp van essence and 2 tbsp maple syrup (or I use honey but this tends to freeze in chunks, I like that though!) yummy!

Pickles, like the ice-cream recipes! Do you know if freezing over-ripe bananas is ok? I try to use them up in smoothies but a couple usually end up getting thrown out. If they're on the turn and I can freeze them, that would be much better

Hi Ivana, I'm in the same position! After years of going to and from WW, trying different diets etc, I'm finding low-carb is working and now I've done a few days of it, it's getting easier.

Do you weigh yourself every day? I try to do it every fortnight because when I did it every day and one day I happened to put on a pound, I'd be 'sod it, I'll have whatever I want today', but I'm finding that every fortnight I've either lost some weight or stayed the same and that's encouraging me on!

Just remember you did so well before, so you can do it again

try making ice lollies yourself, just fruit puree/coconutwater/bit of honey for example.
Or banana icecream, really just frozen bananas whizzed up with some almond milk or on own..
And I have found just freezing fruit(Esp banana) in slices is actually really nice and can be a sufficient replacement for ice lollie etc in the hot weather (live in tropics so am constantly craving ice cream etc!)

I'm doing good thanks for asking Smile today is day 3 and I'm managing to stick to it.

I'm a bit worried about the weekend because dd has chosen McDonalds as her treat following an excellent school report. I need to find the strength to resist a big mac and fries, not to mention the yummy milkshakes!!

I think its the warmer weather that's making us all fuck up...it's proper ice cream and boozy bbq weather!!

Was just dropping in to see how you are doing. There seams to be quite a few of us feeling the twatish remorse of eating carbs.

I've been off them for a few days but am eating loads of nuts cheese and snacking ect. I'm going to re look at the bootcamp rules and possible do uber camp starting tomorrow.

For breakfast I have had an omlette made with 2 eggs and a handful of pancetta cubes, fried in butter, and a cup of decaff tea with a splash of milk. I know the pancetta isnt the best idea but the fridge is bare until later!

Everyone should feel free to ignore this thread of me waffling away...I've decided to use it to record what I eat because I think it'll help me get back on track.

Day one of bootcamp is underway Smile

Right. I have binned the majority of the party bag crap and biscuits. There are 2 freddos left which I will give to the dc tomorrow.

The only possible temptations are the box of fabs and box of peppa pig ice lollies in the freezer. I can't bin those so will just have to resist!

I'm having salmon fried in chilli oil with salad for dinner and will not let the number on the scales derail me in the morning (no "oh well if I've put that much back on I may as well carry on because I'm fat anyway" for me!)

Just clean, clean, clean all day to keep yourself busy! If I sit down and start watching telly or get on the computer, I'll want to eat, so my first couple of days dieting I have to be up, moving around and just doing something where I'm not normally eating (we eat on the sofa, and I snack at my desk, so I can't sit at either of those places at the start of my diet!)

Btw, used to be a cheerleader in high school... "Gooooooooooo IVANA!!" [does highkick] [pulls hamstring and starts crying]

Liking the thought of online cheerleaders Smile

The ridiculous thing is that I know if I stick to it the sugar cravings will go, its just a question of making it through to that point!

I have been known to rummage through the cupboard that contains the kids party bag stuff in an effort to find a little something to satisfy that sweet tooth.....! The less sugar I eat, the less I crave it, so that would be something to work towards as well.... it will get easier!

(Recently emptied the cupboard of all party bag rubbish into the bin, VERY satisfying....!)

Posting on here will help too, it's like having a team of cheer leaders online.....

Yes I am stealth Smile thank you for being so supportive. I'm going to come back tomorrow and post every morsel that passes my lips in the hope it'll motivate me!

You're right of course orangina it won't hurt the dc to ditch the sugary stuff for a bit. They don't get many sugary treats, hence why it accumulates! They actually have a very healthy diet because I don't want them to grow up fat like me.

Don't worry about depriving your kids of biscuits etc..... they will be better off without them anyway (not being judgey about kids eating biscuits btw....!). Don't have anything in the house that is going to tempt you to hurl yourself off the wagon. I know if I have chocolate biscuits etc in the house, they SPEAK to me....

(tragic I know)
