Positive Ovulation test during IVF 2ww - pregnant?

AmyK18 · 22/01/2019 14:03

Hi all, I am 8dpt on a frozen cycle with a 2 embryo transfer. I took an ovulation test this morning as I couldn’t resist and know they also pick up HCG. It’s fully positive with two equally dark lines. I emailed my clinic and she said there shouldn’t be much LH in my system because of the down reg.
Also I know some Ovulation tests pick up oestrogen, which I am obviously being pumped full of at the moment, but I used the cheapy boots test strips which they say only picks up LH. Does anyone know if it could be anything else other than the pregnancy hormone it’s picking up i daren’t get hopeful ....

I know this post is from earlier this year. but hopefully this will help someone. I am 9dpt 5dt and I got a BFP at 7dpt. I saw people at 4 and 5 days, so I tried....nope! If you can hold out until at least 6 it's less days to get those bfns. I will say this...I did an LH test and an hcg the morning of 7dpt. The LH was 2 lines dark and hcg barely there?! Even today (9pt) LH stick is still darker.

We have been pregnant twice before-narurally 1st month of bc 3/2015. That resulted in a blighted ovum. Nothing for the 6 months to follow after d and c. We got back on bc for 10 months because we were planning a wedding in another country (Zika and all that). Once we came off bc, nothing :(
6 months later we consulted a clinic and 3 months
and an IUI later ---bfp. Unfortunately, there was another blighted ovumnin my uterus and a growing babe in my right tube(I'll miss that tube). So another d&c. We went back a year later-failed iui followed by a cancelled fresh and frozen cycle. We almost gave up. But in June this year we went back and switched doctors. She had a very different protocol, using estriodol patches vs bc. And it worked....bfp. Cant believe it...2 years since I have seen 2 lines(sniffles). Super nervous though, scared of a blighted ovum. Well this Friday is the first HCG....let's start there

Also can I eat supermarket mozzarella?? That’s pasteurised right?
I am craving a mozzarella and sundries tomatoe, black olive and basil salad. Like they used to do years ago at pizza express.
And grilled halumi!!! Oh god I’m starving!!!!

Hello, I was actually at the clinic waiting for my scan when you emailed me how funny!!
So had my 8 week scan today, both are looking ok, good heartbeats and the computer/scan thing works out the measurements of them for you and both came out exactly 8 weeks. There are two heads now and you can kind of see the legs!! She said my cervix is completely closed which is good!!
My bleed/hemerage was still there but it had gone from 38mm last Monday to 19mm today so that’s good too although still very nerve racking it’s still there!
I have neurotically booked in my next scan for next week she is gong to think I’m
Bonkers!!
Thank you so much for asking!!! How are you?? How is everyone?? Xxx

Well I hope all those prunes work :)

Anxiety in a very precious pregnancy is normal. Hard to not worry. No use us telling you Not too :)

As for the pregnancy symptoms - don’t worry they will come! Smile

@rememberallball that all sounds great well done!! Why am I not nice and calm and positive like you, you’ve got a great attitude x

Ok, I’ve just been to tescos and bought some prune juice, from concentrate annoyingly but that’s all they had, some tinned pitted prunes which i thought i could chop up and mix into my yogurt?
And I will look into the prune pouch baby food!!
I wanted to get some activia yogurt as well but I ran out of hands!

I spoke to my clinic about this peppermint tea thing and they have told me to stop drinking it!! It sounded though like they were airing on the side of caution though as they didn’t actually know!! There are some horrible things on the internet about it it really freaked me out!!

I worked out I have been drinking about 2 decent size mugs a day in the mornings, one tea bag, on an empty stomach after having downed like two big glasses of water! That’s quite a lot to hit my stomach in one go?
But surely I cannot have done that much harm with that??!

I have seriously been contemplating going to an early pregnancy unit tomorrow privately as a one off but my husband thinks it’s a really bad idea to have someone other that our doctor that we trust and that knows us poking around in there.
So I’m just going to have to find a way to get through to my scan next Wednesday as calmly as possible. Doesn’t help my symptoms are so mild still it’s very disconcerting!

Thanks for your advice guys! X

Hi @AmyK18.

Not got another scan booked yet as not back in UK till 12th March and seeing midwife on the 13th; I presume she will book me in quite soon after that. I’m 7+1 today, scan measurements tally completely with egg collection/fertilisation date and embryo transfer date.

Due date is officially 3rd October but, been told to expect them to put in an appearance around 12th September!!

If you can’t tolerate prune juice, try an Ella’s kitchen prune pouch from the baby food aisle - I mixed it with Greek yogurt and it worked within a few hours!

@AmyK18 prunes helps a lot with constipation ;)

My midwife recommended drinking peppermint tea to help with nausea- don’t think she would have if it could cause miscarriage.

Hi, I’m having a bit of a freak out it sounds really stupid. I’ve been drinking loads of peppermint tea in the morning on an empty stomach because it helps with constipation and Ive just read that’s really dangerous and can cause m/c. Does anyone know if that’s true?

Congrats!! When is your next scan??
How many days/weeks are you now?

Question.... when did everyone’s morning sickness kick in? I kind of though I was meant to be vomiting my face off by now I’m 7 weeks. Is that too early?

Hi @AmyK18, rescheduled scan was done today (we are 4 hours behind UK at the moment) and, as suspected, confirmed twins. Measuring exactly on date and we saw, and heard, both heartbeats!!
