Hi everyone, I'm new to this website and relatively new to IVF.

I just turned 45, didn't ever think I'd still be without a child at my age or having to try IVF. I hear you... I'm over the hill. It's just that I've travelled alot and moved to Australia and got married late.. what can I say!

A year ago I was forced to move to IVF as I was diagnosed with early borderline ovarian cancer and will need to remove my ovaries (well, probably the whole lot down there sooner rather than later!). I'd only really been trying to conceive for 6 months prior to that diagnosis so it came as a real shock and disappointment.

So I got myself tested for any fertility problems and I was told I had low AMH at

Best of luck and go for it. It seems like you've had the world against you to get to even this point so you must be incredibly strong and resilient. I understand what you mean about your follicles, but without meaning to sound annoying, you only need one good egg to be fertilised and get to embryo transfer.
Second what naty says though about egg quality and stats, also the clinic set up doesn't sound the most agreeable to the ivf process at all. A lot can change in the course of a day so it appears to be a logistical nightmare, but I assume you are doing the best with what resources you have. I know Aus is worlds apart from UK in terms of distances to get anywhere!
Really wish you all the luck in world though for getting your baby and for beating cancer. x

I would probably have this one go at getting embies but then have the treatment.
In uk at your age the stats arent great for ivf, not sure of over there.
But i would also be looking into donor eggs/embryos.
I have read that over 40 lots of eggs are abnormal.
Ive done 2 rounds in last 9m 1 cancelled 1 bfn.
Your clinics sound impractical as it can be so difficult to predict wgen eggs will be ready (ive had 17days down to 11 and then 15)
