Apologies that I am unable to link but I have come across a story in the mail where a child has been beaten by sticks and cables over a prolonged period of time by their step father.
The child had come into contact with ss, the police and hcps but he and his siblings were not removed untill the child had over 50 bruises on his body.
I have the upmost respect for sw's I think they are over stretched and underpaid. I'm just wondering what would be the best way to improve child protection in councils where there have been previous issues.
I can imagine that not many sw's would want to work in a council with such a bad reputation. I was wondering would offering higher salaries and increasing numbers of sw's improve standards in struggling departments.
