OFM - good luck! MaamRuby - that must be very tough.

My day's been taken up with childcare and socialising with friends. Quite a nice day all in all but haven't done much around the house! Fresh start tomorrow.

Ruby my experience is that people are amazingly meanthrifty once they are not in an actual shop... and will only pay less than the pound shop.
When they are in Claire's Accessories it is a different story.

Or sell to fellow mother giving party at batch discount price?

But you could always try it.

Mowed lawn
Made cake
ate quite a lot of cake
cancelled altar servng
nitcombing
homework - dh redeemed himself by supervising
more playing in garden

scattyspice · 20/06/2010 17:36

sounds good ruby .

Been to Town Moor funfair today. Went on the big wheel and merrygo round, Ds and Dh went on the dodgems and ds and dd went on a mini roller coaster and hook a duck. Major sensoryover load .

Ironing

Dyls oh that must have been v. annoying. Well done on ds dad foresight!

Yest was lovely,
today has slightly gone off rails again, felt v. grumpy about state of house because I didn't clear up yest due to doing party set up and this morning due to Going Forth Mass, dh not on good form due to too much curry lsat night him and his CURRY drives me bonkers [said I was going to be mean to him but really - he has vowed never to have another Morrisons curry/or any curry again]
cousin was coming round with puppy to say hello, and now cancelled (I have to say I am v. relieved as I can now clean house
dcs in park with dad playing cricket etc, another friend of theirs coming shortly

still need to do blooming homework
and cancel ds1 altar serving as he refuses to do it [stress stress stress - heads for cuppa]

Morning all. Have a horrible cough that's wearing me down at the moment - I get them every couple of years. I thought I'd been looking after myself better so am quite upset about it. Am going to give up wine for a bit and see if that helps. First jobs today:

  • dishwasher, Father's Day stuff + kids' breakfasts, laundry on, do post.

Ruby there are a lot of eye infections going around at the mo, some of the children in my school have been off with them. Hope dd is better soon, they are not nice

MC good luck with your race for life, and enjoy the holiday

Swan sounds like a good day, shame about the shed door- is it easy to fix?

Scatty you have trained ds well, winning wine is great

Just13moreyears, you have done lots of little jobs today, and thats with having children home. They always slow us down, esp when have to go to parties etc as well

scattyspice - I bet the kids LOVED seeing the fire engine go! Enjoy the wine. You think with fairs you're going to get rid of loads of stuff but somehow more comes back!!
Had to take DD to a birthday party and DS has a friend to sleep over but I really feel I should have got through more today than I have..Story of my life.

To do:
1)Tidy living room
2)Put DD to bed

Report
scattyspice · 19/06/2010 20:39

Poor shed . Sounds like a good afternoon though .

I think we're in danger of overdoing it. Today DC have been to swimming lesson and cafe (with dh), then school fair and party (with me). Highlight of the school fair was when the Fire engine had to zoom off to real emergency . Also ds managed to win me a bottle of M&S wine on the tombola , and managed to restrain dd from buying back all the toys I'd donated (on her behalf!).

Laundry everywhere!!

swanriver · 19/06/2010 18:26

oh yes and shed door now off its hinges

Report
swanriver · 19/06/2010 18:24

We've done
music
meatballs
window cleaning with dd downstairs
2 friends over for the twins, 4 played all afternoon in the garden some obscure imaginary game involving shed, climbing frame and 4 sacks
I chatted to 2 mums - house instantly appeared v untidy the minute they arrived, funny that
laundry upstairs (not put away)
dh and ds1 bought a cricket set and a football
garden too small for either so they played bounce the ball after tea (pasta)
kitchen messy will do later ahem

I've picked up ds2's jacket for Going Forth Mass tomorrow, now need to go out and help prepare Parish Hall for Sun party.

Hello Everyone

Welcome back just13moreyearstogo

Had a brilliant night last night with girls from sign language class at the dogs - it was empty so got comfy seats in front row and no queue to bet - And I didn't win a penny - but it was good all the same. Also sorted out sending my Ipod to be fixed - will cost £125 for the priviledge though - DD is definately not using it ever again!!

Done so far

  • Picked DD up from grandmas and taken to dance class
  • dropped DD off at other grandmas (who she hasn't seen for ages) to spent the day with and go and see great grandma whilst I pack
  • lunch had
  • washing on
  • Been to see physio - can take the illuminous tape of my shoulder and neck (that was fun co-ordinating with outfit yesterday) and she seems happy although as its ligament damage will take a while to get back to normal

To Do
  • Pack
  • Tidy round
  • Get running gear out for race for life tomorrow
  • Pack car up so we can leave straight after race for life tomorrow
  • Pick up DD
  • Physio stretches to try to minise re injuring my hip/knee

Hoping to be back tonight if not I'll be back in two weeks either refreshed at a relaxing holiday or stressed at two weeks with DH, DD and In-laws

Maamruby poor you - eye infections are horrible. Hope it's getting better.

Couldn't find swimming costume so did a workout instead. Feel energised now...until I look at everything that needs doing and don't know where to start! I'll break it down into little bits..

1)DD meds
2)Dishwasher - empty and fill
3)Put clean laundry away
4)Hang yesterday's load

oh dear I was feeling grumpy, but now I feel a bit better reading your upbeat message.
Dylsmum you really are a ray of sunshine
must make some lunch for everyone and not get bogged down with arguing

Kitchen still tidy,
garden still tidy
ds2 wet his bed, it is stripped
wash on
got dd to lay table
ds2 to do some clothes washing (not the sheets that would be mean)
sorted out three arguments
made ds2 go in the garden to calm down
sat in garden detoxing

now need to make some meatballs, tom sauce made already.

Wolf the scatlogical side of life as a mum is underestimated. Tg we love our children so.
