grouchy glad the doc could give you something.
swan They slept until about half 2, and the best bit was, I managed a little nap too , and no, it didn't really matter about the timings.
I didn't take anything to swap shop, they have enough crap to get rid of!
galen

Ladies night was nice, at home now with more wine. Dp is getting up with boys in morning, so gonna curl up on sofa with wine and book and really chill as can have long lay in........although I'm sure dp will think of a stupid question to wake me with, so have written instructions on feeding etc Men hey?

galen - hope you can work something out.

Wendy - excellent result with the video! Who on earth would think of inventing a wide screen!

Grouchy, my little pittas are being a bit flatbreadish too, but we'v ehad a good day really, and even got slug pellets.
Dinner for all finished, several children had to bes ent out of room in disgrace,
now eappeard for supplemental cornflakes.

Flip and refresh the display, the only answer!

Galen, I'm sure yourparents will help. Ds2 will probablycheer everyone up though.
thinking of you both.

Hi
Galen sorry for awful news, thinking of you lots. Enjoy the pizza!
Are we odd around here breaking up later? We got two weeks at May Spring bank hols so that's perhaps why. Anyway DS leaves nursery next week to go full time in Sept (sob) so i don't want him to break up - I'm dreading it!
Prof magic show sounds good don't think I can help with that!

On the seeing myself in the video thing: you'll all be pleased to know that DH said it was because it was in wide screen! He switched it to normal telly view and I looked slim!! Yay! I didn't eat a chocolate to celebrate but I did think about it

Got through the day, dc just in bed, we've all eaten together tonight so no date night for us really - will try to manage it after DH has watched the cricket highlights!

See you tomorrow

well all back from school in one piece yay. Yet more bags of assorted gubbins from classrooms to add to piles.
swan felt quite bad for secretaries actualy as I walked past the office on way through to nursery and DD announced "llok what Ive got for my teacher" holding up bunch of flowers!! Think I may have to add them to my list next year LOL

My little baby boys last day at primary school I'll never pick him up from there again....quite emotional....

DH finished early which is good and handed my my laptop and banished me to the bedroom and is now sorting tea time chaos - bless him

Sadly though have also had a call from MIL, they think FIL is in his final few days. So now trying to get my head round possible travel to Ireland and funeral arrangements for next week. Not sure which of DC to take....DS1 and DD1 know about the situation, others dont. I only told DD1 last week and she was really upset that Grandad wasnt going to get better. Will definately leave DD3 and 4 if my parents can cope with them....will have to take DS2 I think , not sure about others....will have to consider...I really want to be able to focus on supporting DH rather than worrying about DC, but not really many people we can leave them with....oh well

Going to have a shower and a cuppa I think. Pizza for me and dh later....

At least we are now officially on holiday!! See you all tomorrow

Hi again.

Mad - at bed men. Where have they left it?
LBB - Yay for your playgroup night (sounds like my kind of playgroup lol).
Grouchy - Pesky 6 yos! I nearly had a moment when ds got upset after his party he seemed to be saying it wasn't very good but it turned out he wanted it to last longer so I let him off lol.
prof - hope you find the right (this season) wand and slippers.

Done:
DS to school (very wet presents given)
finished off at work (yay)
collected dd from nursery (lots of hugging and kissing) (and crying from me and staff).
DD to club foot clinic - no problems back in 2 yrs.
Dh to get ds and go to lidl.

Dh family visiting tomorrow (sigh) and night out for me with girls .

Wine tonight .

Hello again to all. go My dh is just like that with cards. He takes a quick glance at the front then quickly reads who it's from and then it's forgotten seconds later. As swanriver says, they're not always aware of the effort that goes into things. I'm sure I wasn't aware of all the work that went into our family Christmas, for example. All the card writing, present buying and wrapping; vistors and extra food, etc. I think it's much easier to appreciate things when you're older and do it for someone and then you realise what has been done for you in the past.

swanriver I've not touched the ironing. Still, ds is home after being away all week and he's off again tomorrow morning at silly o'clock. I wonder who'll draw the short straw for getting him up and taking him to meet the bus - me or dh? Ds' report has arrived and it's a good one. I think he's working pretty well but if he focuses more next year then he'll get the GCSE grades I believe he is capable of.

Swan I think we'll offer him a truce later today, we just want him to, ah, you know. My brother was the same at Ed's age if I recall correctly. I have to remember he's only 6.

Report
swanriver · 17/07/2009 14:32

Grouchy [sneaks back} don't feel bad, they are not aware of the effort we put into things. Ds1 was always thrilled with his card[for 1 sec) but still managed to just throw it on floor and move onto next thing. Whereas ds2 would spend ages looking at his card and put it on shelf.
Now if it was a card ds1 had made for HIMSELF it would be different.
I think they prioritze quite differently and know we adore them, so are not really surprised by anything we lavish on them [bit sad really I agree)

Galen, this time I didn't give a present to Lollipop lady (she always seems to get them) and felt sooo guilty crossing road with my sack of presents. But it was out of control, perhaps I need to just rotate the gifts round different members of staff {poor dinnerladies, sports teachers, choir lady, library lady etc) Gave vinegar and jam one year because I was desperate (not even homemade) and all the teachers were rather "plump" so didn't think they wanted chocs

Must ration myself on PC as well this hols.
{STERN}
bbtomorrow.

Hope they still slept a long time LBB, sure it won't matter in scheme of thngs.
Swapshop sounds like perfect solution to clutter issues - well done on helping withit.

DONE
We've had a nice morning lots of bricks and reading - shepherd's pie from freezer for lunch
bicycle ride in park and some fresh air
Ds2 is still a raving loony - think he is really missing polite society having been away from school and people for so long (well his family doesn't count)

Simply, I'm doing some ironing while Bolt is on. Definitely. Last time I watched it I cried, and wanted a dog so might have to avoid it this time.

Hello, We're back

The GP checked me out and it is a nasty head cold with added slime and he's given me a lazarus like decongestant. I can breathe and move my head again yay!

Ed has blotted his birthday copy book already He opened his special birthday card today and just left it on the floor, just taken it for granted, no suprise or amazment. DH is really I'm and Ed thinks his day has been cancelled. I think he needs a shock like that TBH.

An afternoon of him keeping out of my way will be nice but it's not good is it

Report

grouchy Hope your feeling better and the gp can did rather give you something.

Just back from playgroup and shops. Boys both in bed asleep without lunch/milk so that'll mess the afternoon up. Nevermind. Popping back to the playcentre to help set up some stuff for tonights drink-fest. We hold a swap-shop so all the donated bits and pieces need to be sorted and laid out. I don't really feel like it now, but I said last week that I would.

SimplyIsATalentedBuzzard · 17/07/2009 13:01

go I hope the GP was able to give you something to help.

Done:-
~ washing up
~ more washing (just 1 load left)
~ make a phone call
~ put recycling stuff outside
~ wash up cat and dog bowls
~ hoover kitchen prior to mopping

To do:-
~ ironing. Oh, hang on TM. Did you say you're not doing yours today? Sorry to hear that the delivery men wouldn't carry it upstairs. Dh and I had to carry up our new bed and mattress recently, too.
~ wait in for delivery
~ tidy up the conservatory and sitting room and maybe dining room as well. Oh, yikes. Someone is coming here tonight and unless I take him around the back of the house then he'll have to go through those rooms. Hmmm. Ach, get on with it woman! After lunch. Promise.

Done
handwriting practise one child
vp another child

nwo just need to pin down the others - where aer they?

Suggested to dd that she do a shell collage out of felt. She looked completely horrified. Back to the dancing again.

Feel I am now off hook with all organised activities. Possibly slug pellet trip later.

Sorry about sinus pain Grouchy, I recommend some hot Thai chicken soup. That's what worked last time, the chillis really helped clear the inflammation. I think it's also the air pressure - dh has had a headache for last week.

What is the harvesting situation in your garden TM, apart from courgettes? Loved your garden blog.
Dd had such pleasure making a bouquet for her teacher from garden (I was amazed that she found so many flowers - didn't think there were any) (wine as well, think that was important element of gift)
Yesterday she picked some more for a friend's mother.
Now we are waiting for tomatoes, which are very behind (we started too late I think)
