I would say that was only at 6 months that I cracked the simultaneous naps, grim before.

Sleep well and see you at w/e

swan sounds pretty similar apart from the play and stories come after the getting dressed and a bit of polishing up.
Am hoping to get them to nap at the same time, but I'm not that lucky

LBB, my routine when they were little - possibly a bit older was as follows (if you are interested :

Wake up 7.00
breakfast
play, read sing listen music etc
a few (minimal)tasks, dressing etc
be out of house by 10.00 to runaround, or playgroup etc (snack)
lunch back home at 12.30
nap after lunch in cot
clear lunch
me nap
wake dcs or be woken by 3-4pm
storybooks or Thomas tv, snack
go out again for more fresh air if pos
tea at 5.30 to 6.00
fail to clear tea
dh then arrives at 6.30 helps with bath and bedtime, stories songs 7.30pm
then supper for adults
sleep 10.45 pm
wake in night at least twice

sounds idyllic but I supose I must have done some housework sometimes perhaps not..

LBB, I think kids love routines, as long as they are childfriendly. They love knowing what happens next. I don't think that's controlling things.
I think that control is counterproductive when it makes you actively unhappy, about all the things you haven't done, or exhausted because you are doing too much.

Presumably that is the whole point of Flylady.

pleased to say that I've managed to mop two bathrooms,
tidy downstairs (mostly)
and deal with a few more hotspots
not exactly date night but dh has gone to sleep a while ago...

Tomorrow is a busy day
music in morning
then two parties back to back for ds1

Nothing has to be strictly fixed, just a rough idea. At the moment my list of jobs are just to do at some point today, but then I sometimes forget to do the things that I actually want to do iyswim. For example, I love reading to ds1, but sometimes, I think, oh, I'll just do x first but then he's tired/in a foul mood, so will be interesting to see if there's anything like a pattern, although I expect that if I do find one, it'll all change 3 days later!
This is what I find really hard about having children, not being in full control of everything, I'm getting better though......

Managed to get to shops, and buy
a bit of new cutlery (shopping centre so vast I immediately got lost and had to buy it from supermarket
blouses and shoes nil score thousands of frilly dresses for size 10's
presents YES

had ds2's friend round and his mum, lovely play in house and garden, combined with a bit of computering
kittens next door visited
moussaka made and eaten
now dcs to bed

poor dh is v. tired too Starbear
Lbb, I think naptimes were only fixed thing in our lives by 4 months. Sometimes one just has to collapse.

We shall see. It's hard while the boys are so young, but I'm hoping to pay closer attention to everything, and also make notes of nap times, hunger, general moods, enjoyment or lack of on activities and games, bit obsessive I know, but might be interesting to see if we have a set routine/pattern without fully realising it.

LBB Good idea it should then fall into place. One of those days that Ds has said 'mummy, mummy mummy' every few seconds. It might be because we haven't played together enough today. I will get up early tomorrow get some chores done before he wakes up and do the ice treasure thingy.

hello all
Friday is my manic day - only just getting a minute (with vodka and coke )
llb I have been flying since Nov and still no control journal. let me know if it works!
mad ice thing looks great! very educational. My DS is similar to yours I think (we have discussed similar DH before, I think, with the maths thing) but his nursery notice nothing - so thank your lucky stars! Last parents meeting all I got was he could recognise initial letters (when he can fluently read!) and can count to 20 (20 million, more like!). I try to count to 20 myself when they say these things, and think, he is only in nursery! Who cares! Anyway we all share your joy at DS's report!
Gibb hurrah for new fish!
Off to cook, paint kitchen wall, make cupcakes for tomorrow's church party, stick that brush up my ...
Laters ladies

I've done nothing!!!! Well, I did my morning routine, but nothing else. I haven't even sterilised tomorrows bottles yet
I have no intention of cooking dinner, washing up or doing my full evening routine today. I'm feeling a bit physically drained. I will wash and sterilise bottles when ds1 is finished in the shower.

I've decided now, the best way for me to create some sort of workable control journal and routines, is to keep a diary of what, how and when through the day I do certain things and then see if there's a natural pattern after a few weeks iyswim. I'm also trying to put together a weekly plan now. If I do a home blessing on monday, I figure I then only need to do room rescues maybe on a thursday, plus posted missions, and the place will stay looking CHAOS free.
That's interesting isn't it?
Are you pleased I shared that?

Been and handed in last of overdue books

Raining here and much less muggy so we may get a better sleep tonight. Haven't really slept for the last two nights.

Need to start the ironing...
