Wolf I am constantly amazed how week after week I don't iron anything, but the world doesn't end! Did iron uniforms for scouts last night for the parade not wanting to let the side down etc. And a shirt for dh. And even that he said, why are you ironing???But he was grateful.

I am feeling relieved that chicken pox is done and dusted in this house. Easter four years ago exactly, and dts were miserable -but ONLY for a few days, then just a lot of enforced hibernation - that was really the boring part.

I have done very little non-leisure today.
BUT
did dd's homework
ds2's reading book half of it
made ds1 go an EDUCATIONAL computer site rather than the dreaded mini-clip
dd made a applepie with me; rolled out the pastry and chopped the apples and put an A on top!
two loads of laundry
discussed with dh 8 yr old ds1's aversion to the objects in museums (likes only the running around bit and the cafe)
made cod onion potato bake for kids (very nice - I've eaten leftovers)

They are now watching Jumanji, which they have been reminding us about all day. and dd watched Brother Bear earlier...bad telly day I feel. Ds1 is such an addict. He needs some old fashioned hobbies, but it is difficult to force interests on others.

Wolf, I'm sure doctor will listen about knee. Perhaps Scatty has ideas?

Hello all
Just about to go and tutor my friend with her Eng lit essay.
Wolf take it easy and go to the GP too who cares what they think.
grouchy hope you're ok
galen nice to see you - busy as always

see you all tomorrow - I am busy at the hospital again and have to find someone to look after DS whilst I'm there, as he doesn't seem well enough to go to nursery.

evening all wendy fingers crossed that your ds doesn't break out into the pox, how is dd's finger by the way?

grouchy take it easy or I am going to come round and wag my finger at you, remember I know where you live

dp has made tea for ds whilst I vacced and tidied the living room and he's now going to put him in the bath while I vac the kitchen floor and do a bit of tidiying

I am trying to decide whether my knee can take it if I do a little bit of ironing, off to docs on tuesday, two months is too long for a knee to still be useless after a little fall. No doubt my doc will think I'm a nut case hypochondriac

galen impressed by dp playing the organ, that's quite a skill to have

positive thoughts for a peaceful night for the mad family

Get Ed's uniform ready
Load WM and run
Empty upstairs recycling bin
Make tomorrow's lunches
Clean 4 pairs of shoes
Do science work with Ed
Ask FIL for huge favour (he said yes )

Popping in briefly again sorry!
swan glad church went smoothly for you - I had a bad time today - DH was playing the organ! So I had 4 littlies on my own. DS and DD! were serving on the alter, but DD1 had to come off cause she felt ill. Looked like she might faint bless her. Cue lots of walking round outside church for fresh air with many children!
dyls well done on house blessing
grouchy how fab - but pace yourself LOL. Youve inspired me tostart tackiling our garden next week LOL
scatrty really intrigued by routine card idea - sounds fab. Is it on FLylady site? Or somewhere else....or did you make it up? Think that is just what I need.
wolf I love online ordering TBH when it goes well!
wendy poor you and littlies, hope theyre both OK and not coming down with pox!

everyoneelse HI!

mad still thinking of you. Hope your recovery is going well.

Well I did quite well this afternoon. DH took kids out for fresh air as I needed to catch up on FLying - bad week for some reason!
Did mini blessing - hoovered dusted etc... throughout. Big tidy
Sorted dining room shelves

Emptied bins

Oh DH needs PC....BBL!

hi wendy yes she did have a cold and cough, but no temps, for about a week before the rash came out. was off her food and her hair was really dull and lifeless( its usually so soft and shiny). so knew something was wrong- did suspect pox were on their way as so many others in her nursery have come down with it the past fortnight.

Report
wendyredredrobin · 01/03/2009 17:35

I have just read about chicken pox on the nhs site. It says mild flu symptoms just like DS are common before the rash appears so looks like he's getting it too. And dd too no doubt. That will complicate taking her to the hospital for her finger dressing!!

Hi everyone
I have also planted a few seeds this afternoon - carrots and cauliflower just in pots though. I would like one of those tiered plastic greenhouse thingys. they have them on offer in argos may treat myself (cos we can so afford it! spent £1000 on the house move already to the building society and solicitor!)
DS no better really.
Dyls was your dd fine prior to spots coming out or has she been ill in the run up? MIL seems to think this is typical of chicken pox coming on (I haven't had it so don't know!)

grouchy you'll have no energy for your week! You are meant to be doing r and r at the weekend. [Chiding emoticon] take it easy!

wolf hope you're ok!

Scatty those routine cards sound great. May try with my ds when he is better

swan and Ruby hi

All this talk of gardening is making me feel . I avoid all gardening !

Wolf - did you like Juno? I loved it and have even downloaded the soundtrack.

swan - the routine cards are very basic and the same for both (ds - 5 and dd nearly 4). Bedtime is:
put away toys
wash face/have a bath
brush teeth
put PJs on.
I plan to add stuff (babysteps).

Morning is much the same (in reverse).

Until now I have had great trouble getting even these things done without alot of nagging (esp morning). Tomorrow is the test I guess .

Have ironed summer clothes - feeling spring like .

grouchy you are one amazing woman now go and get some sleep

I am starting to come round a bit now, managed to get dressed after lunch and have watched Juno this aft with ds asleep on my knee. He is now sat on Daddy's knee asking for medicine...

medicine duly dispensed

wm unloaded, reloaded and on

dp has tidied the garden

And yeah, We have 2 of those tier flimsy things. The tall one got blown over loads last year taking DH's pointy peppers, basil and plum toms with it. I've move it to a more sheltered bit now (and put a patio slab in the bottom so it won't migrate to the end garden this year)

Swan I was just so proud of the compost I wanted to use it straight away. All those peeling, trimmings, bus tickets, receipts and tea bags will now grow more food. Recycling in action. Plus there are some fab minibeasts in it, the caterpillars were amazing and the earwigs were great. God I'm sad

I've only planted little trays or 5" pots of stuff to prick out later. When I've planted out I'll do a new load so we have stuff through the summer (I hope)

Better try and sleep BBL

Oh grouchy I'm sorry, but that sounds amazing you have done the entire spring planting schedule! I have one of those tiered thingies (is that what you mean by gh?) last year it was in a wind tunnel and flipped over when plants were just sprouting so this year I need a better location.

I'm back in bed. I've overdone it again and I couldn't stand up. V embarrasing.

I got a bit over entusiastic about the garden and I

Seived the contents of the bottom of the compost bin (with a riddle, not a kitchen seive) got 3 30l buckets of fine looking compost
Swept the top 1/3rd of the garden
Rebuilt the 4 level greenhouse thingy
Rebuilt the 2 level one
Tidied round
Planted seeds, I did :-
Tomatoes
2 types of lettuces
Spring Onions
Spinach
Carrots
Basil
Coriander
Chives
Parsley
Broad beans
Pumpkins
Empty WM
Empty DW

Then I had to get help to stand up

I've got a lot to get ready for tomorrow so I better get some rest for a bit. God I'm a bit daft

Hello, another busy day [collapsed emoction]
Both ds's were in scout parade at church at 9..00am and behaved perfectly without me in close attendance. It was very restful, and I think am beginning to look forward to church on Sundays instead of worrying about what will go wrong.
Now I've left them with their Dad at museum; dd's has flaked out and I've brought her home, tho' she has just run all the way up the hill from train so can't be that ill? (just allergic to museums clearly) But luckily she got to see grandma in museum cafe, so mission accomplished. I think we'll try something exciting next Sunday too.
Now need to sit on sofa with dd, watch a film and look in the dreaded homework bag.

Tell me what your routine card said for your eldest Scatty? So far I can just about get them to take pjs upstairs, shoes on shoerack, put dirty clothes in laundry, clear plates but hopeless at table laying (too hungry to think straight?)toy tidying and finding their own clothes to get dressed (except for dd).

Hi all.

for all those with poorly toddlers.

Busy day here.
swimming, family outing to Mcdonalds, park. DS homework.

To do:
ironing

I have had great success so far with my morning and bedtime routine cards for DC (giving your children wings idea). I'm sure the novelty will wear off soon (not too soon I hope). But amasingly both DC are happily zipping through their routines with minimal input (nagging) from me .
