Is anyone else wasting this lovely day with the cleaning?

In my defence, DS and DH are away for the day, we are planning to put the flat on the market next month so it needs to be done (pg hormones also causing aversion to DIRT and MESS).

Kitchen about done, just 2 cupboards to sort out and scrub. Bathroom next...

I am.

Dh has taken DS out for the day, it is DS's birthday tomorrow. I did most of the cleaning yesterday, today I have made mini quiches, doing loads of washing and vacuuming and general crap that needs doing.

Garden needs doing too, but really can't be arsed!

Well they are out now and they smell yummy!

Nol I'm wasting this lovely day clearing furniture to begin sanding and painting the front room floor.

If you can imagine The Chuckle Brothers trying to get a Grand Piano up a flight of stairs ,that was me and dh a minute ago, negotiating a dresser through the hall.

No i am fixing broken things and getting angry with the screwdriver. Going out later though, it IS a nice day

I'm wasting it working which is a travesty when I could be topping up my tan!

bedroom and sitting room this afternoon... LOTS of junk to go through and throw out

at least the sun has gone in so I don't feel so bad

am packing and tidying at the same time.

i am tidying the toys and toy boxes. my LO is nearly 4 and i have been a childminder for 2.5 years so you can imagine the amount of toys we have!
but i must admit to feeling a little better about getting our tiny house in order. makes me feel all self-righteous and organised!

just done a couple of loads of washing and got them on the line to dry.
Washed the floors bathed the baby and am doing nothing else today, I would mumsnet outside in the garden but when the wind gets going it aint half chilly

Me. DP has taken DD to the farm, I spent the morning tidying up and now am supposed to be catching up on some work as I have a deadline next week and am behind. Instead am mnetting, thinking vaguely about Christmas and half watching Joey on the tele...

we are moving in 2 weeks and i have wasted today packing up dc's bedrooms. it feels so satisfying to have some of the house done. sod the cleaning tho - maintenance is all i'm doing until we go - the landlord has been such an ass and doesn't give a damn about the house so i'm not cleaning it for him.

who knew proper cleaning took so long?

Cleaning is never a waste of a lovely day, IMO.

There's nothing more satisfying than welcoming an evening in a clean, fresh-smelling home that's been aired out, all the washing smelling fresh off the line put away, soaking in a cleaned bathtub with a glass of nice wine.

that's what I am telling myself

I will have an evening and morning before DS comes back and trashes it in 5 mins

Oooh yes, expat, I do love just looking at the house when it is all fresh and clean.
