Hi anyone who is still up/on the internet!
Just checking in.
Ruby that's great news, it's nice to feel wanted. That outfit sounds great, as long as it's not a job in the city, in which case you will need a bowler hat.
Will be at work tomorrow until 4:30, but will check in later.
Have a good day tomorrow.

I think that sounds like a nice outfit Ruby, should be smart enough and cool in the heat we've had recently. What job is it?

evening ladies!

well, fil finally fitted cooker only to find that the sockets now work backwards with the cooker switch working the socket and the socket switch working the cooker! very confuddling

been to asda, spent £80!!!! but it's a months worth of shopping and maybe even longer than that with only having to top up stock cupboards. and we got nappies and beer which was £20 out of the total. and it all came out of insurance money that was left so not too bad. am going to attempt dhal this week now i have a vague idea how to.

Right I've

Cleaned out the fridge (cos it was empty and grotty)
Swept the kitchen
Swept the front room
Mopped the kitchen
Mopped the bathroom
Mopped the front room (Ed helped with the mopping
Sitting down now as my legs have shouted at me

Ruby Take a pad and pencil and ask for a glass of water, take a sip, write it down. Think of one example to answer the question take another drink, a deep breath and answer the question. Don't be embarrassed to pull on your experience as a mum. it's so easy to write it off as mundane but you have to run a home, entertain the kids, keep the place clean, keep appointments etc etc

Oh and Ruby I forgot to include thinking about any questions you have regarding the job itself, what skills and experience you can bring to the job, how familiar you are to working in that environment/team/type of work etc etc.

Okay. I've not done much it seems since I was last on! It was doing that Lakeland link that did it as I've been on the Lakeland website making up an order. It is far too big so I'm going to cut it in half! That'll have to wait until I've fetched ds. See you later!

Ruby - that's fab! When will the interview be? Do you have something smart & comfortable to wear?

Thanks Ruby, I'll look out for the Monday thread then.

Ok. For the interview, you need to prepare. That means all the usual stuff. Read the job advert, job description, read up on the terms and conditions in case you've any queries re salary, holiday pay or whatever, think about how you'll get to the interview, the date and time it might/will be on and whether you'll need childcare, what you'll wear etc. You'll be fine! Hey, and I'm dh's lucky mascot so hopefully I'll give you successful vibes.

Right. I'm off now. I'll be back at noon.

Hello to all. Just a quick post as I'm trying to make a difference to the house. Not having an ap here any more makes quite a difference and I want it to look okay for when the new one arrives in about 3 wks.

Ruby I'd like to be in on the Xmas countdown but I don't come on the FLY thread that often when I have an ap here. Will you be doing it on a certain day each week, do you think? Good luck with the interview and presentation.

go I need to order more of these from Lakeland Ltd. The smaller boxes are great for lego and knex type stuff. I've just looked at your list - you put me to shame! All I've really done so far is to get showered and dressed and tried on the clothes I'd ordered. I think I'm going to keep about a third of the items which'll please dh!

Right. I must dash. Oh, a list!

To do:-
~ cut the grass if it is dry enough - it wasn't yesterday when I checked.
~ fetch ds from the camp where he has been most of the week at 1pm
~ fetch dd from her activity day at 4pm
~ write the holiday packing list incl the self catering list of must haves

Okay. I'll get cracking and come back later.

Ruby Ed has got into Lego in a big way. There are bits of Bionicles, City, racers and Freestyle everywhere .

I can't vac up without getting on my hands and knees and checking the floor. I can't go into Ed's room without slippers on a I tread on the gearing for helicopter proppellers.

Well it's improving his motor skills I suppose
