Hello again

at the parallel lives of Jas and Julez !

Jas that you've had a bad afternoon - I find work going on in the house really unsettling so know where you're coming from with the dread of it all going on for v long! Do you have any idea how long it'll take him to complete?

grouchy and gibberish hello

I've cheered up a bit and dh and I have been civil to each other all day...not sure I'll manage not to feel irritable with him thsi evening though
We did the town trail and quite enjoyed it. Then dh took the kids to the park and I (wierdly) had a burst of energy and spent the hour or so that they were out blitzing the house! It looks miles better this evening and I feel more able to face the week ahead. I've been offered some extra hours at work so may be giving a couple of mornings a week over to that soon...good and bad elements of that...

I'm going to watch Casulty and then have an early night, I just hope I manage to actually sleep tonight....

See you all tomorrow x

julez I was a bit confused reading your post...I have a broken toe, and ds is just getting over croup. I was a bit confused for a minute.
Thankfully his croup is now just a nasty cold.

I've spent most of the afternoon arguing with dp. He has managed to get quite alot done upstaris but I have no idea how I will ever cope with living here while he works. I hate it.

shouldbe and on your behalf. MEN!!! Hope you have had a better afternoon on the walk.

GO Try not to overdo it. I know the FLYing bug is almost bordering on obsession but you probably need more rest. How lovely that you MIL is willing to help you out though.

julez Aw your poor baby!! I remember when my youngest sister had croup. It was a very scary thing - she just couldn't seem to get her breath.

Not much FLYing for me today as I did the major things yesterday. Still got some washing to do, a little ironing (spent 2 hours clearing it last week ) and need to put away piles of clothes. Need to hoover again too. Already had dinner as we used up what was left over yesterday. How come meals always taste better the next day?

Afternoon ALL

Still confined to bed (bah) legs keep giving way under me. I didn't go out last night. I stayed in bed and MIL looked after Ed

Got up with Ed to put a film on as he wazs fidgetting in the bed. Then what does dozy grfouchy do...yep, start flying.

Done
Up with Ed
Downstairs with white washing
Load and run WM
Load DW
Take extracter b ags of wood shavingss to cellar (the big industrial ones. DH's BF is a woodturner and we use the shavings in lieu of kitty litter)
Empty cat trays
Empty dehumidifyer
Clean them out
Line with paper
Reload with shavings
Sweep up the dirty stuff, bag it and throw in garbage.
Start to remake bed
DH up and shouts at me to Get back into bed.

So I'm in bed (again) DH is looking after Ed and I'm msning lists of housework that needs doing

Hope you are all OK

Hello again
Thanks Luda and EHM I'm feeling very tearful and your nice words have made me blub again

I ended up needing to get out of the house so took the kids to church...it was good to get out for a bit and I relaxed a bit while we were there. I've come home and can feel myself tensing up again though so I'll have to do something to prevent me ending up all day!
The kids have lots of homework and we're taking part in a town trail which means walking round our village this afternoon (really don't have the energy but it's a fundraising competition and we've already paid to enter)

I've put the kids in the garden to play with a swingball set I bought last week, dh is doing soem gardening so I'm going to try to catch up with some FLYing to prevent me from despiring at the state of the house as well as the state of my marriage

Then I am on project dash round. I need to clean the bathroom...and loos...and dust...and hoover...and wipe the kitchen down....and um...generally get the house under control

and on the plus side...your house will benefit from a good raging tidy!

shouldbe I feel your pain....it is exactly what happens in our house too...I ALWAYS get up with the kids...ALWAYS....and when I eventually get a lie in...either he just doesn't get up...or he gets up, and makes so much fuss about it, I'm wide awake anyway. He lets all the kids come back up then after about half an hour.
I just don't even bother asking these days!!

BIG {{{{HUG}}}} from me xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

He also expects us both to stay in bed too WTF!???? what planet are they on??? (I'm sure he only says that because he knows damned well I'll not be able to lie there while the kids wreak chaos downstairs!)

Try not to feel too upset..I don't think you are in the wrong...I know our men work hard too...but when it comes to getting up with the kids they think they are somehow exempt don't they! You have been especially tired too...I hope you get a rest (or do what I do...have a nice early night to catch up)

Thanks Jas
On the plus side, having a row and activly avoiding dh has meant that all my clean washing is sorted for ironing or put away, a load of washing is in the wm, the dishwasher is sorted, the water filter is changed (has been due to be done for days) ds's bed is stripped, clothes from bedroom floors have been picked up......not sure how to get through the rest of the day though...

Oh, shouldbe Have a(rarely given by me) I wish I could come and take your dc out so you could go back to bed.
Maybe you should go upstairs and hoover under your bed. Alot.

I think that's part of it Jas I feel equally let down by him and annoyed with myself for actually believing I'd get to sleep in I'm so tired/angry/fed up I'm just sitting here sobbing

Report
Jas · 09/09/2007 08:13

shouldbe That sounds so like something that would happen here. I have actually given up even asking for a lie in....I always end up feeling worse when he lets me down, but I have gone back to bed in the afternoon at the weekend if I am exhausted. Could you get a rest later?

Morning Luda and all

I'm not refreshed at all and am very very very with dh this morning I hardly slept last night (it was gone midnight before I managed to doze off, very late for me) then ds came in at 4am wet from havinug wet the bed so I changed him and he came into our bed...I then tossed and turned and put up with all the noise our neighbours roosters/geese make till 6.15am when I finally dropped off, only to be woken up by ds at 6.40 I had begged and pleaded with dh yesterday to give me a lie-in this morning and he'd agreed but within about 10minutes of heading downstairs with ds dh came back to bed, making me wake up again. Then ds and dd start squabbling downstairs so I ended up getting up anyway! Dh then moaned cos he thought we could both lie-in!
How is it a rest for me when there's no-one watching the kids, they're banging and crashing and shouting and arguing downstairs?!
We've had a massive row, I'm still shaking
I'm probably in the wrong, he needs sleep too but I get up ahead of him every morning and really needed to get some rest today

Anyway, I need to get some housework done today and have already (in my fury) made a start...
I also need to source some felt from somewhere in order to make dd a costume for a fancy-dress parade next weekend no idea where to look at such short notice

shouldbe hope you are feeling more refreshed this morning

tort thanks for your concerns over the car...fingers crossed it is all ok now dh has to drive it this morning to Carmarthen, which is about an hour or so away, so he'll soon find out! I drove into town to shop yesterday...it was fine
I think Devon would be a bit of a treck...but I'll join your Haven fan club

jas...oh...I was hoping to see a or two, but at least he is doing something ...good luck with it all.

GO I hope the virus passes soon, rest up and take it easy xx Nice to hear Ed and Dh are treating to nice

mylastrolo Hope you are ok this morning...I absolutely cannot drink red wine...but I do like a nice glass of white

Well the weather is grim...dh is off out to work, I'm going to have brekkie and then climb into a nice hot bath.

I'll catch you all later
