October Fledgling thread 2016: where we fluff up our feathers and fall back in to autumnal Flying routines

Welcome to the October 2016 Fledgling Flying thread!

Come and park your broomsticks mops and buckets here!

This is where, from the 1st of the month, we attempt to declutter and follow the 30-step wisdom of Flylady (minus cutesy language and a surfeit of e-mails) with lots of chat and support and mutual motivation (and Wine of course) along the way.

More info available here , here, here and here.

As usual we will be following a three-pronged approach - and don't worry - we are all at different stages. (Some of us are still stuck at the decluttering stage after quite a few years Blush):

  • repeat or start baby steps (again!)

  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone

or

  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering.

And those of you who have decluttered and are really enthusiastic can throw some detailed cleaning in to the mix as well!

The idea is that we focus on short, ring-fenced, daily bursts of activity (steps and routines) that will help our homes run (more or less!) on "automatic pilot" allowing us to do far more interesting things instead!

This is a very long-running thread so we may appear cliquey but we really aren't! All newcomers, long-termers, lurkers and intermittent returnees not only welcome to join in but positively encouraged to do so!

Helpful pointers: No perfectionism allowed! If it took a while to create the current C.H.A.O.S. (can't have anyone over syndrome) in your home, then it will probably take a while to reverse the situation (you can't clean clutter!). Small steps are the key! And you are never behind: just jump in where you are at!

Any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Good luck!

The internet has been rubbish, so didn't get to read/post much. Had a busy weekend with not much housework, 2-3 days without keeping on top of it and you can certainly tell!!!!
Tidied up the kitchen/living (one big room).
Washed and changed cat's litter and feeding tray.
About to fold the washing.
DW running. (That's the Dish Washer btw, not the Dear Wife!!!)
Lunch for tomorrow made.

Hope you're all well and enjoying the beautiful autumn.

Oh yes thank you SC Caglets still watching the film but I'll set up new thread after (it's easier doing links on there)

We've had a nice quiet evening. This is the spooky dessert, the Caglets insist on having it every year! Supposed to be blood, guts, teeth etc :o

Btw, while I remember Cag, reckon I should hand over the golden feather duster to you around about now ... if you are still ok to lead in Nov? Enjoy your duvet/film night!

Hope Halloween tea went well Mercury and that evening not too onerous Toostressy!

Oh dear Foxes sorry to hear your ds is grizzly. Sounds like one of those days. [Proffers sugar-free Cake] You still managed to get a good list done though!

Babble Smile at your puppy dressed up but sulking!

Started with such good intentions today and didn't achieve much in the end. Find it difficult to get on with dd here for some inexplicable reason.

Ta da:
Animals
Tidied and quickly wiped down kitchen
2 load washing done and hung up
Fed wms again
s&s
Lovely dog walk in park with dd
Got distracted playing battle ships
Got distracted making blood meringues with blood red fruit compote

Still feeling awful about Halloween here too Sad. We cancelled our party on Sat because of dd being ill. And this afternoon she is having to turn down lots of last minute invitations from friends as she is much better but not better enough to be up late/out in cold ifyswim. I feel such a killjoy but we are travelling this week and she needs to be totally fit. Nothing worse for a teen than feeling they are missing out on what the group is doing though.

Could you put a simple note on the door saying "sorry, owing to illness, no callers this year please"?

Oh no Blue I'm really sorry :(

I've only just got back, we were at a friend's for a learning group thing. Got to do some more laundry, cook Halloween shaped pasta (thank you Lidl) in a blood tomato sauce, then make a Halloween dessert while photographing it all for my blog :o then we will snuggle in bed with Hotel Transylvania 2 on the laptop and ignore trick or treaters (normally we join in but the clown thing ugh)

Front of house lights out zoo? some people just don't get it, we don't go to anyone without pumpkin out side. Currently sat in kitchen dressed as a witch, dp is out with haglet 2 and 3. haglet 1 is in his room and occasionally surfaces to take some sweets from the bowl. puppy is dressed up too, but sulking on the stairs.

blue sorry to hear that Sad

Ds has been grizzling , feeding then puking pretty much all afternoon so far Hmm

Dd is asleep but she was chatting away for ages so will probably be grumpy when I do wake her up.

Ta das
Put sofa cover in wash where ds was sick on it...
Hung washing up and folded some
Quick tidy of living room
Two bags of clothes to charity shop

To do
Everything else but not sure I'm ever going to get it all done at this rate! I had such high hopes earlier. Parcels have arrived so might pop out to pick up my parcels when dd is up but not sure because me and ds smell of baby sick now and I'm not sure I can actually be bothered to change us both.
