Has anyone got a thermo-beech chopping board?

Are they any good/worth it?

I can't find much about them except it says somewhere that the wood is heated to 180 degrees making it very durable.

Thanks, I don't think anyone else has heard of them either!

It arrived yesterday and it really smells appalling. This apparently is quite normal and will disappear over time. I have to have the window open as the whole kitchen now smells of burned wood!

It's a nice colour though. I have no idea how it will behave in use. All I can find on the net are a load of them for £££ on some German cooking website and my poor little clearance one from B&Q.

Plus lots of scientific studies about thermo wood. Hmm

No sorry not got one or ever heard of them. I thought end grain chopping boards were supposed to be the most durable as they are traditionally used by butchers.
