I've had my idea karlstad covers about 9 months and between ds and the cats they are filthy Shock
i have the huge corner sofa so i think dry cleaning will cost a small fortune!

are they 100% cotton, then you can wash at 40 no problem. the dry clean only is probably because the fire retarding coating.

ok, well when that thing called "the sun" comes back I will get on it.

You've got the same covers as me! I washed my previous set several times on 30 degrees.

Do the whole lot in one day as you need to take the ends off the sofa. Hang out on the line and iron as well. And definitely don't iron the white stuff that says do not iron .

can't remember which cover i have, its light grey and has that slightly check/waffle type texture. i might try washing one of the corner cushion covers first. will have to wait for some better weather though for drying!

I washed my Karlstad chaise longue cover a few days ago and have just got it back on, now taking off the rest of the covers. Mine is the Sivik pink-red one, I did the chaise longue bit first as I thought it would be cheaper to replace if it had shrunk, which luckily it didn't. There is no sign of the red wine that I spilt on it!
It's turned out fine, I washed it at 40º and a slow spin, either 400 or 600, it was a 1 hour long cycle I think.
The weird thing is the labels appeared to be dry clean only but on the website it said washable at 60º, I took my chances as teh chaise longue sofa would've been about 25 pounds to clean and 50 pounds to replace, though in reality If I replaced it the rest of the covers would probably look crap a little faded beside it.
