Quinnell Candles - freshly cut roses diffuser is lush www.quinnellcandlecompany.com/products/copy-of-freshly-cut-roses - lasts ages especially if you buy extra reeds off eBay!

I was given one for Christmas, had to put it outside as it was overpowering!

I use electric vapouriserscan't remember that you put essential oil and water in. I love them, have two of them, going to get another one or two for different rooms. I like changing the oil depending on my mood/weather/time of year. The smell lingers well imo. Currently have rosemary being used, but have been using sandalwood with bergamot and/or cedar wood and tangerine over Christmas period, with a bit of cinnamon oil in. I like earthier smells in winter, and flowery light smells in spring summer.

I love Neom and Jo Malone

I find that the Jo Malone ones last ages.
You do need to flip the reeds every few days but I have had one for over 6 months and can still smell it- pomegranate noir.
Love them

I was given a Ralph Lauren one at Christmas and it still smells amazing. I wasn't so impressed with the smell of the Next one....

I loved my Fired Earth one so much I bought 3 more online! Next also quite long lasting, and an Orla Keily one I had was lovely but didn't last as long as I'd like. And I find Jo Malone doesn't linger enough (although it looks lovely!)

I was recently impressed with some little Wax Lyrical ones I got from Wilko, only £4 and they were really smelly! They didn't last that long but they do bigger ones too for £6 I think.

I did discover a tip for making them last longer- when you're down to the past few mil of oil in the bottle you can splash some vodkaShock in with it to make it last longer! Gave me a few weeks extra life out of my posh Neom one!

Osprey and Rituals ones are lovely. Next are long lasting, Jo Malone not so much.

I got a Fired Earth one for Xmas (think they are quite expensive). Smells lovely but I don't think it is going to last long.

I got a couple in Tesco reduced to £4 which seem ok. I'm not sure what brand they are.

I have a Marks and Spencer's one and it hasn't lasted that long. When are you meant to change the reeds? i turn them upside down but am wondering if I should put new ones in instead.

I've had a couple of good Dorma ones from Dunelm that actually scented a room and lasted for a good while. I tend to buy refills now, for the gazillions of empty bottles and reeds I have accumulated in my quest for a nicely scented house. Sainsbury's one seems to last well and the smell carries - it's in my hallway with good air circulation.

Ooh this reminds me of a weird ceramic thing we used to have on a radiator when I was little, with like a coat hanger on top and you hang it from the top of the radiator, fill with water (and oils presumably) and it was like a humidifier? That might work well in the winter when the hearings on!

I just bought an ultrasonic humidifier/diffuser for DD's bedroom. Bought so that we could keep her congestion free and when she is having trouble sleeping put a bit of lavender in there. Its cheaper than using the plug in night light and pads that we were using before.

But I'm so pleased with it I'm going to be buying more so that I can mix my own essential oils and have exactly the scent I like and at the strength I like. They are a bit fiddly as you do have to clean them weekly and top up the water bath quite a bit with continuous use but I'm in love.

I've got Next "New York" and I can hardly smell it, much prefer Yankee reed diffuser in either vanilla lime or lemon lavender.

Laura Ashley ones last ages and are the only ones I've tried that I can actually smell when I walk in the room. I bought a pear one at Christmas which is absolutely gorgeous but all sold out now.

I got a Next one as a present, and yes, it strongly scents the room - but not in a good way!

Laura Ashley are the only ones I've found that last any time. Expensive full price but £10 or so in the sale, less for the Christmas ones.

I just bought a pear scented one which was inexplicably sold as a Christmas scent but isn't Christmassy at all, just a nice fragrance.
