Opinions on this carpet for stairs please

This one. It is the carpet in the main picture, black and white swirls called Pierrot.

It is designed by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen which is a bit worrying! However, I have been looking for carpet which won't show marks and is not plain for ages.

I like tteh idea but that one is too dark fir my liking , although in a very light stairway ..maybe.
I'm looking for patterend one for hallway as well. I like the one next to that one better.
