We have teal because dh wouldn't have yellow. Both look fab (on Pinterest) We were restricted by grey carpet we couldn't afford to replace, and have black-brown hemnes furniture from ikea.

We have chartreuse / lime green and hot pink accessories in a grey room in the summer, then in the winter I swap to purples and reds.
I would avoid brown.
Have you tried looking at a colour wheel? It's so handy - helps identify colours you wouldn't have thought of. There are ones online and in most paint shops.

Funky aren't they! shame they don't do more in those bright colours, trouble is I don't think I could decide between them for myself... I stuck with the neutral clay colour - also in my kitchen which has the same col walls as my friends lol - at least they don't look the same/like we copied Smile

Not brown!!! Yellow would be nice - how about some nice lights? look at the jim lawrence website - they have fab lights in yellow (and duck egg blue would be good? bit paler than teal, nice for a bedroom)

are we allowed to link? these are yellow - I bought 2x Barbican ones for a friend, to go in her kitchen which has grey walls

Teal sounds good. Brown not so much! Pink? looks great with grey. It kind of counteracts the girliness Smile
