I've always thought DFS a bit naff but have seen a nice one currently half price. Good or bad experiences?

This a good type of zombie thread, should be done more often about sofas! Every 5 years everyone checks in to say if their sofa is still in good nick.

Haha, my DFS sofa I posted about upthread in 2013 is still going strong.

I think it depends on the sofa, I have two of these and can honestly say they are fantastic, very well made and dfs were great to deal with,

They are really good if you want durable and practical design. Their toughened leather sofas are what we have in our nursery - still going strong after 15 years and we have kids climbing on them and everything.

I have, and would again.
Was good value for what we got and the frames seem sturdy enough 6 years on.
Paid something like £25 pm for 4 years for 2 sofas

DFS FURNITURE. Just been looking at the reviews on Trust Pilot where it claims there are nearly 26,500 positive reviews I never saw one negative. BUT !!! You have to put in your order number so that DFS can identify who you are and to supposedly help you.Which screams out to me that they have CONTROL of the reviews that are posted on there.
I’ve also been conned by the stain removal scam by the Kettering store in Northampton. Who said at the point of sale “ Any problems just contact us and we will get somebody out “ NOT “ You ring up Stainguard you will have to fill out a form then they will send you out a bottle of liquid for you to give it a go yourself “. They lie through their teeth. There was no way at all I was buying these setees without the cover and the salesman had the cheek to say to me yesterday that I would have bought the setees regardless of the cover. Who the hell do they think they are. Avoid this company like the plague. They are nothing but aggravation. Our sofas are 3 months old the cushions are sagging already and the protection is not worth a carrot. Ive informed the finance company and they can have the sofas back. Sofas are not fit for purpose as the cushions have to be refilled. The rep said that the back cushions WILL fold over because there is a split in the filling etc but will come back and refill and stitch them . Really ! ? Not with my £2,500 3 months later and they already need attention. I’ve informed the finance company and have told them WE ARE NOT PAYING for this shoddy mis sold product so they can have it back .

Our leather ones have just worn after 8 years so not too bad. I have seen some I like in Next, anyone had any experience of their quality?

I bought a dfs sofa for my kitchen, after 3 years it is falling apart. The sofas in the other rooms are much older and have stood the test of time much better. That said, the are 5 dc here who use sofas as trampolines, so the dfs one has got a lot of abuse. Some of their stuff does look lovely and I'm sure it would be fine in a less energetic household

We've had ours for 4 years, one but has started to sag but that's die to dh sleeping on it for over a year

We have two leather ones. One is 9 years old and still going strong. The other about 3 years old. tbh we couldn't find any as nice anywhere else for the money. Had great delivery service too.

Yes would definitely recommend. We had two which lasted about 15 years each. But Jake ours had the cushions as backs and I really wouldn't recommend that design. Every 5 minutes we were having to straighten them, and ultimately they are the reason we changed the sofas.

we are on our second and it is very comfy
we had first one for over 11 years but moved house and needed a corner one to fit in the living room
the old one is in the back room (it's bed settee so very handy)

Our DFS sofas are about 15 years old and still great.

Just spent a fortune at JL on one and it is crap so yes I would consider dfs now.

We have two from DfS. Thought they wouldn't be great quality but they are. Have had loads of compliments on them and if our bloody cats didn't scratch them (despite scratching posts on each corner!) they'd be as good as new after 4years. Not sure about the quality now though as heard they were changing where they made them. Used to be good old British made but think that's long gone.

Ours are 13 years old from dfs. Didn't buy from the ultra cheaper than cheap range as I think they won't last.

Ours is still in fantastic condition, much to my annoyance, as there is no way I can persuade dh to buy any new ones, just for a change of decor, until they at least stop being comfy and no longer look good.

Yes we have one but don't think it has lasted that well so don't think I would buy another from there.

For those of you who do have a DFS sofa.....do the ones with fancy cushions as backs last as well as the more formal backed ones? Just curious as thinking about taking the plunge and buying one :)

Ours is 9 years old and still going strong. I'll replace it from there when I eventually need to.
