Water in Italy

I'm taking DS to Italy soon, he will be 4 months. When making up his milk can I use tap boiled tap water?

Thanks for everyones' advice. Had a fantastic time in Italy. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. They do love children. People gave up their seats on the underground as soon as we got on and 2 people came out of a cafe to carry the buggy up steps before I could blink. I particular it was noticible how many young men talked to the children. How different it is here.
P.S. used bottled water as tap water had lots of calcium stuff in it.

I live in Italy & it's best not to drink the water ubnless boiled for a good long time if you are not used to the bugs!
To be honest - just go to a supermarket & buy some water - even if it's not low sodium it's safer than risking the water & costs hardly anything - use it for teethbrushing too.

Some do Gem13 but not Evian which is recommended in France for babies.

Italian Peadiatricians usually advise to use mineral water for making up feeds, though I'm sure that boiled ttap water is perfectly ok. Wwhen I visited my family with dd I used boiled water, but my sister always made up feeds with low sodium mineral water. Can't remember any brands, but you'll be able to find Evian if you decide to opt for this. (Now I remember, I think the most used in Italy is called Panna). Do not boil mineral water or you will just increase the concentration of minerals in it.

My children drank ordinary unboiled tap water in Italy last year (aged 2.5 and 7 months). No bother. I would think boiled tap water should be fine, as far as I know the water in Italy is the same as it is at home.

I thought you weren't meant to give babies mineral water as some contain high levels of sodium? But now I've said that I can't find anything on it to back that up. Sorry!

I would have thought boiled tap water would have been fine anyway.

I gave my dd straight Evian water (not boiled) to drink and to make up dried foods at the age of 4 months. No problems.

Think you have to boil it still though - check with your health visitor - my one had leaflets about all this.
