Holiday abroad for Christmas?

Seriously contemplating going away abroad for Christmas this year, our DD will turn 3 just prior to Christmas and DS will be 10 months old. Due to work schedules etc, we wouldn't be able to do it again for roughly 5 years (DH works a set rota) so trying to decide whether to bite the bullet and try it this year while we have the opportunity.

Does anyone have any experiences of having Christmas abroad with little ones, good or bad?

I was also going to suggest Dubai as we have been at Christmas. Perfect temp at that time of year for young children. My DCs were 2 and 5 when we went.

Dubai - there are Christmas decorations everywhere, its nice and warm and it's not a public holiday so everything is open as usual. Pick a hotel with a great kids club and put your feet up for an hour or two.

Thanks @newusernamelouise , that's what I wanted to hear. The thought of a stress free Christmas with no planning etc sounds PERFECT. My DD has a birthday just a few days prior to Christmas so it's a busy time of year anyway.... and I'll be back to work in Jan after maternity leave so thought it would be perfect to escape before she starts nursery and I'm back to work

Went on a cruise for Christmas twice when my kids were teens and loved it! I was ready to escape the Christmas stress, and it really worked. The ship was decorated beautifully and Christmassy, no cooking or baking, the children's Christmas presents were things they wanted on the cruise and nothing else. Best decision ever, we did it twice.
