5 days in Malaga February

I've just booked flights to Malaga in late Feb with 5 full days, 6 nights. I'm travelling with my 11 year old DD.

Wondering if Malaga has enough to entertain us for 5 days or whether we should do a side trip? I enjoy culture, history, nature and relaxing!

The tickets for the Alhambra actually get you into the inner Palace.
You can walk the grounds inside the walls for free.

I second Ronda.
I also recommend Seville.
Also Caminito Del Rey, tickets required.

CAr hire firms in Malaga central train station.

Malaga is great for a city break in its own right though many people pass through onto other holiday destinations. This place is just outside the centre though walkable and is a museum displaying a fabulous mix of fashion, art, design and amazing cars. www.museoautomovilmalaga.com/

I actually have been to Granada but would like to take my daughter to the Alhambra. Wondered if it might a be a bit colder though as higher up. I'll look at the weather nearer the time. Definitely up for some nice mild weather!

Car hire isnt expensive a d will give you so much more freedom. You will get to Rhonda and Mijas in no time.

I love Malaga. You can be in the mountains hiking or you can be on the beach! Fabulous!!

Malaga is lovely in February. You can also get a train to Granada. Lovely train trip, Granada is stunning. Book tickets to the Alhambra. If you haven’t been it’s amazing.

Great local carnival in Malaga at the end of Jan. They know how to throw a party! Late Feb will be a good time too. A great base to explore from. The interior can be snowy at this time of year so stick to the coast for nice weather 👍🏻

I went to Malaga for 3 nights with a friend a few years ago. I bloody loved it! It's a fabulous city and one I wouldn't have considered had she not suggested it. We did a walking tour of the street art which was really interesting and also did the Picasso museum. I'd definitely go back again.

Definitely go to Benalmadena. Use the tourist hop on off bus!
.

Mijas is more cultural than anywhere else local to malaga, and well worth visiting.

Enjoy.

I believe you can get the train from Malaga to Rhonda I’m not sure how much would be open in February although it’s a proper working town. The views are stunning up there and agree with other people that the trains are punctual, clean and cheap. I love Malaga 😊

The trains are great - cheap and easy to use. They go direct from the airport into the city too so you don’t need transfer

Thanks for your reply, that's encouraging, Malaga sounds like a nice mix. Random chickens also sounds like our kind of thing (as well as just hanging out on trains). Excellent.

How fabulous! There’s loads to do in Malaga - museums, Roman remains, a castle, hire a bike or a escooter, go to the beach, shopping.
And if you get bored of Malaga there’s a cheap and quick train down the western coast taking in all the resorts to Fuengirola. Perfect for a day out. Bedalmadena has a lovely port area and the walk up to the old town takes you through a park that is filled with chickens! It’s a bit random.
