Has anyone stayed at the Colony Hotel Miami? We have two nights in Miami in July and have seen some extreme views - it’s fantastic or dreadful… It looks quite quirky and fun to me but maybe I’m missing something. Anyone been?

Ah just seen your update! If you've got a 14 year old daughter, I suspect you will be spending an awful lot of time in the shops on Lincoln, so maybe base your search in that area!

The Colony looks really beautiful in pictures but it will be L.O.U.D. all night, every night! If you don't want to be out till 4am every night, and plan to sleep, it might be better to stay somewhere just slightly off Ocean Drive and just stand in front of the old Art Deco places for pictures.

We stay at the Gates, which is a compromise. Its on Collins, so is quieter at night, and has lovely pools and grounds, but is also only a ten minute walk to Ocean Drive and is near all the shops and restaurants on Lincoln.

It has its own beachfront with a little golf buggy type transporter but you get charged pretty heftily for this, I think last time we were there it was about $22 per person per night for a resort fee which allowed you to go onto their beachfront and two loungers....i seem to remember if you wanted an umbrella it was about $15 more!

Hmm we’ll be there with DS17 and DD14 so maybe it’s not the best place. Do you have any suggestions for alternatives? Thanks Smile

If you want lively it’s the area to be in as the nightlife goes on till the early hours of the morning. If you do not like this and would want to return to a quiet room to sleep then you need to find somewhere else to stay.
