How does your baby sleep in hot climate

Hi- we’re travelling to Thailand in 2 weeks with an 8 month old. It’s 30 degrees over there. Is it silly to bring our 2.5tog and wear his normal pjs and put the aircon at 18 degrees just like in London? Or should I buy a 1 tog. Or a blanket..... 🤷🏻‍♀️

The "shock" between AC at 8 at outside TV 30 is pretty unpleasant.
I'd go for 24 on the AC, and whatever bedding that suggests - maybe just a babygrow?
Our AC used to be permanently set to 26. That was as hot as I could live with. I quickly noticed when the AC broke, and would feel quite ill trying to do housework or cook etc above 27.

Thank you for all your helpful replies! Yes There’s aircon in the room. Ah I might just dress him in short sleeve body suit and maybe use a blanket if he wants it.

Will you have ac? Bring extra blankets if so. If not they can sleep in snappy.

Although I do sometimes leave AC on before I go to bed, you could try that?

I can’t sleep with AC, it dries my throat too much, I live in NY, so very humid but I find a ceiling fan adequate.

I’d probably cool the room to about 25 degrees because I wouldn’t be comfortable overnight if it were any warmer than that! Then I’d use a 1 tog sleeping bag. We live in the US and use the a/c in the summer as does everyone we know. No need to sweat in a 30 degree room if you don’t need to but cooling as low as 18 will mean all of you adding layers as soon as you come inside which will be annoying plus more to pack for your trip.

I think he would struggle daily if every evening he's sleeping in a 'cold' room. I'd try no air con and just a nappy. Take a room temp gage so you can then put the aircon in low if needed.

I also always get colds / throat infections from constant air con usage so maybe better for him without it
