Ideas for a christmas break please

I would like to go away from a week over christmas preferably leaving on boxing day.

Would like somewhere warm and sunny, but needn't be blistering hot.

Not too long a flight (4 hours max)

Nice hotel. Preferably on or near a beach.

Budget - not too expensive - say £3000- £4000.

For me DH DD(6) and DS (4) and DM(70+)

Any inspiration welcomed!!

Canary Islands? Tunisia is nice and cheap, but water etc is better in Canary Islands.

M2S - Is it warm enough in the Canaries to play on the beach etc in late Dec?

Soapie - you might have to bump it for me the next week if you don't mind, only I go on hols for a week tonight. Re. Tenerife - in-laws went there over Xmas a few years ago and the weather was lovely. Our last 3 holidays have been to Tenerife so I have this funny feeling that's where we'll end up. I don't mind although it would be nice to go somewhere different!

I have been to Lanzarote several times in winter.Temperature about 70 degrees.Would recommend playa Blanca as it has nice sandy beaches. There are some nice hotels there the one we have stayed in is excellant for children. Also found it much cheaper to book indepentantly. We have also looked at going away over christmas and priced it indepentantly about £1000 pound cheaper for the week. That is a family of three.
