My first baby is due in early December. Will I feel like skiing in late March next year? And will I be able to leave the baby with a nanny for at least part days? Advice please!

Can I ask all parents taking their children skiing to make sure that the childs name, age, chalet/hotel address and a contact telephone number are put on the back of the childs ski pass. On sunday we met up with a frightened child in a restaurant, who had hurt her knee and lost her family after a ski fall in bad weather. She had no idea where she was staying or if she had even come out with a ski company. After the pisteurs had been called and she was finally going to be taken care of, a friend arrived and contacted the family on his mobile phone! A frightening situation for all that luckily ended well. I've also looked after a little boy (5) who fell off a chairlift and broke his wrist during a ski lesson, he also had no idea where he was staying. We eventually found his parents. Most adults are confused in strange places, especially skiing, so please ensure that your child is well labelled, just in case......

Jumpinj, It rather depends on your physical fitness and what sort of birth you have as to whether you'll feel like skiing next March. I skied 5 months after my baby was born and was fine. I probably took it a bit easier than I would normally but I experienced no problems.
You should certainly be able to leave your baby with a nanny. We went with a company called Ski-beat and stayed in a chalet, which had the creche downstairs. The nannies were great and I was really pleased with how well they looked after my baby. I was no longer breast-feeding by then so we left him for most of day. The first day we 'phoned the creche so many times (it was the first time we'd ever left him) and the nannies were so kind and reassuring.
If you are going in March you should be able to leave it fairly late to book and you can see how you feel about it nearer the time.
