We're going to a wedding in Barcelona at the beginning of July and want to find somewhere to stay on the Costa Brava for the week after the wedding. Will have dd1 (3.8 yrs) and dd2 (15 months) with us. Has anyone got any recommendations? Would prefer a small resort e.g. Llafranc or Calella de Palafrugell.
I've got the Spanish Harbour Holidays brochure which is full of apartments to rent but the sales staff are so clueless - seem to all be 19-yr-old girls who haven't even been to the Costa Brava and haven't got a clue if the roof terrace in apartment A has railings or whether apartment B is 3 mins or 23 mins walk from the beach. And the big hotels tend to be 'proper' hotels - quite formal and trad. There's no babylistening as of course in Spain everyone keeps their kids up in the evening, unlike this particular uptight British mum who likes to have them in bed by 7.30pm!!!
