Croatian 'villa' recommendations or other holiday ideas please

It looks like the house we are trying to buy is about to fall through so we are going to go on holiday instead.

Any recommendations for a holiday villa (not a grand one but not an apartment either) in Croatia near the beach and a reasonably big town for eating out?

Or... any other holiday suggestions? I'm after somewhere warm for us (13 month old DS and DH) to spend some quality time together with good food and scenery. Not too far away as I am 4 months pregnant and don't want to do long haul.

I feel a bit nervous about Morocco. Have had a really stressful time with the house buying thing and don't feel up to the challenge of dealing with 'guides' or unusual food/ travel arrangements.

Makes me sound like a huge wuss and apologies for going on friends' tales of visits. I just want an easy, relaxing time.

The Simply Travel website is proving useless though. It looks like they have some lovely properties so I shall perserve. Have you travelled with them before?

dubrovnik is wonderful. simply travel go to croatia now - they have villas. i think croatia is a fantastic place to visit - beware though, beaches tendy to be stony rather than sandy.

otherwise, what about morocco, either marrakech or essouira?
