OK, it was someone like Zelda Fitzgerald, but not her, and in the 1920s she was the wife or mistress of an actor, someone like John Barrymore but not him, and she died horribly after accidentally drinking the bottle of mercury that her husband was using to treat his STDs, in a fancy hotel, somewhere like Georges V in Paris. Sorry, I can't remember exactly but it's driving me mad!!

To be fair to her poor husband, mercuric chloride was a common over-the-counter disinfectant in the early twentieth century. The presence of a bottle of the stuff does not mean that her husband had syphilis.
