Hi, I'm about to start a very intense (I'm told by Colleagues who've done it already) University Course. It's only one academic year.
I have 4 DC & a DH who's married to his work. I do just about everything at home...we also have 4 pets. My eldest will be doing her GCSEs this year. I work very few hours & can probably keep this up until my Course is completed.
Does anyone have tips on keeping things at home running smoothly whilst I'm studying?

Thx all! Have already told the kids it'll be a meal rota with online shopping only. The bigger kids do help, but will need to be working hard at their own schoolwork this year.
Thx Tablow-been there, done that! I got the books last week & will try really hard to work as I go. Very good advice.

In a lecturer and the biggest mistake people make is leaving assignments until a week before the deadline, so they suddenly have 5 assignments due in and no time to do them justice.

Start making notes on the assignments the minute you get them and put aside time each week from when theyre allocated to get them done. The last week should be for editing.

Very low standards for me through a 3 year degree. About to start a masters, I'm not sure whether it is actually possible for my standards to stop any lower so could be interesting!

Blimey that's a lot. I did a 2 year degree recently and it was a lot of reading and I still worked one day a week. I studied most weekends too.luckily no kids.
And my partner was on board with it. Which was the main thing.

Get everyone to pitch in and help. You will be mentally tired if it’s intense. If you don’t think they will and can afford it, buy in help eg a cleaner.

Set up a regular shopping delivery and get easy food if they can’t or won’t cook.

Use dishwasher/tumble drier as much as possible.
