DS reports Edexcel Geography was "decent". The actual definition of "decent" is anyone's guess.

Psychology was 'OK', which in my interpretation is pretty good. No awful questions and even the maths element was ok. In my world this is a positive start!

Hope others went well. I know of a few who did physics whom said it wasn't too awful.

Shimy that's a very good idea. DD went into a maths exam (Yr 7) without a calculator last year having not even bothered to mention that she'd lost hers.

DS is starting to panic about what he thinks he doesn't know...

A break with friends sounds like a very good idea for your DD, Juicy0. Trying to encourage DS to do the same but he's not got his act together with his buddies (yet).

cardy1969 hope the exams go well for your DD. I think it takes time to master revision and exam techniques. Some are lucky to develop the skills sooner than others. We can only hope that the hard work does pay off (it jolly well should!).

ifonly4 agreed, they all seem to just leave at the end of each exam without talking whereas I remember chatting after each of mine. They probably do it on snapchat etc when they get home!

DD has two weeks break now before chemistry, more geog and biology but I think she'd rather get them done more quickly to be honest. She's on study leave now (private) but also goes back in on 5th July for presentation assembly etc. She's also off for a mini break with friends between then and her last exam.

DD has her first exam today, psychology. Anybody else?

I'm at work and I keep tearing-up when I think about it. I've managed to keep my emotions and nervousness to myself so far.

She's worked so hard, I just want her to get what she deserves but exams aren't her strength. She says her mind goes blank and she starts to panic.

It horrible and too much stress.

Keep the fridge and snack cupboard topped up, tiptoe around them being supportive. That is all I can think of to do for mine when it gets to this stage.

Laniakea, hopefully she'll feel better with others around her in the same position. A lot of them probably feel under pressure as they know there are grades they need to achieve. Hopefully, it goes ok for her.

Dd has physics this afternoon but for some reason wanted to go in all day. She left at 7:20 looking awful & majorly stressed. I think extra time in bed would have been preferable but what do I know!?!

She is very anxious - 1000 times worse than GCSE. AAB for firm, ABB for insurance - v. worried about a B in chemistry. She’s a state.

juicy0, hope geography goes ok for your DD, good to have someone to compare notes with, as a couple of girls in DD's class won't talk about the exams afterwards.

DD had her last lesson on Saturday (private). Teachers are still available during what would have been lesson time and by email to touch base with. Home next week and plans to meet a friend at town library every day for change of scenery.

DD's school have an entertainment/celebration extravaganza at the start of July, so officially doesn't finish until 5 July (although she's going away between last exam and that starting).

Marching after dc did similar half a dozen times, I cleared a drawer at home and bought all the basics, pencils, rulers, maths sets, transparent pencil cases, 360 protractor. I kept them all secret. Whenever we had one those ‘moments’,I’d head to the secret stash and pull one out. DH thought I was a genius and dc still think I’m a magician.

A few years back, DS1 announced one evening, on his way to bed, that he had a maths exam in the morning - okay, for which he required a calculator - okay, and I've lost mine, Mum...

Fortunately, this was a weekday night and there is a 24hr Tesco ten minutes' drive away. I made him get dressed again and go with DH to investigate their school stationery department.

DS just announced he needs a new protractor for physics paper tomorrow. Hope everyone else is better prepared.

YesDD also finished lessons on Friday but teachers are in their classes on timetable... they can choose to go in to study or stay at home.
Dd has one e am this week then one in the week after half term. They're spread out quite well. And she never had 2 in one day which seems quite lucky!
