Dh now qualifies for free eye tests, can someone explain what his pescription means please

His eyesight is awful but apparantly he now qualifies for free eye tests because he is a complex case, he is shortsighted and has astigmatism always has done, is his eyesight just that bad now that he qualfies?

Right:-10 -2.25 x 15
Left:-10 -2.00 x 165

is his sight really bad, or the stigmatism or what? Have tried to find out on google but no further forward.

He is very naughty and not had them tested for nearly 10 years, optomerist nearly had a fit when he told her he was still using the same glasses & contacts........

Yes, mine is the same, -10 is the level which triggers free eye tests, he's probably just got very slightly worse and reached that level, that is what happened to me, after being -9.5 for years, absolutely nothing to worry about, nice not to have to pay. Calling it complex makes it sound worse than it is I think.

I find that the optician assistant sometimes forgets and asks me to pay, so he might need to remind them sometimes.
