as I've decided it's now or never to quit smoking . Main motivation isn't so much 'health' related (although obviosuly that does play a big part) but also just can't AFFORD to keep buying them, usualy only have a few each day - but recently been having more and it's costing me a fortune.

So - need your help and motivation PLEASE

PS - this will also become my diary for recording how it's going.

I did too, but never Marlboro. Smoked Silk Cut (rarely), B&H (more often) and Embassy No 1 (most of all).

I'll smoke anywhere, on my own, or with friends - probably smoke more on my own that around friends - as most of my friends don't smoke.

I think one of the reasons I found it so easy to give up was that everyone I knew smoked Marlboro Lights and I HATED them.

But I could go all day without one. Weird! Definitely drinking and smoking go hand in hand. And not even alcohol necessarily - just being in a pub/club! When I stopped smoking, I found my friendships changed - I didn't go to the pub as much and didn't miss it!

lucky cow! HM

When DH knew I was smoking (he thought I quit last August) he once went to Tesco for me at midnight to buy cigarettes as I was so desperate for one it was driving up the wall (and he always hated me smoking too!)

I always could too, Lou - I don't think I was ever truly 'addicted' as I gave up very easily too, despite smoking vast forests of the bloody things.

Cor, Lou - why did you start again?

Actually, the longest I've not smoked for is 12 years...from birth to 12 And it's been seven since I stopped.
