Any Dr House's around - diagnose me?

Feeling of something stuck in throat
Painful Chest ache mid chest (burning pain)
Trouble swallowing
Pressure feeling in throat/neck/pulsating in ears
Voice hoarseness
Dizzy and out of breath if talking/singing for too long
Excessive yawning
Burping
Tight chest
Tiredness
Weight loss (roughly a stone over two months)

All worse in the late afternoon/evenings

Blood tests fine (iron, thyroid etc)

No asthma

Clear chest X-ray

The acid reflux my neck lump Dr diagnosed me with is actually Silent Reflux. The silent bit meaning you don't feel indigestiony - I kind of didn't believe my problems could be be down to acid indigestion. However, when I stopped my med my symptoms came back - the hoarseness the worst.

Eosonophilic oesophagitis explains some of it, but given the rapid change in symptoms I'd see a GP, you'll be referred under the 2ww I would think.

The lump in the throat may be a red herring. It's surprisingly common and can be as simple as a timing mismatch between your swallow and the muscle constriction.

The burping/burning could be reflux or hiatus hernia.

The other symptoms could be stress and anxiety.

The weightloss would be the most concerning thing if it's all unintentional and no dietary/activity differences are being made.

Well with Achalasia you tend to have the symptoms of fullness, swallowing problems for some time before starting to bring food back up. It's only as the opening decreases further that the vomiting starts.

Simon, hmm I don't tend to bring food back up again. Although I do if I eat too much or a largish meal.

Hernia in the osophagus sounds like it could fit. Most of this came on during/after pregnancy

My dad actually had Wegeners and was an inpatient in hospital (very ill) for six months before they diagnosed him. Id been telling them for ages I thoughtnthats what it was......they fucking loved me!

Every week I appeared with some rare autoimmune condition Id researched and said "might it be this, I think you should test for it".

They settled on Wegeners in the end but don't think they were ever 100%. Maybe he had something totally unique. Killed him whatever it was.

After saying Wegeners à la House (annoys the hell out of me they say 'Waygners' when it's actually 'Vegeners' but that's a whole other thread...), I'd go with reflux.

Quite unusual and often diagnosed as stress but symptoms fit apart from the dizziness I think.

You need an endoscopy or barium swallow to diagnose it I think.

Went to the docs with them. She though GERD, but I don't feel like I have reflux/acid (certainly not like pregnancy heartburn!)

What about something along the lines of reflux/GORD, or hiatus hernia?

Did you go to docs with those symptoms or were xray, bloods etc for something else?

Lump in the throat is after eating usually. Feels like a thickness/fullness feeling

I don't think it's stress, I've had that feeling of anxiety lump in the throat before, it feels different to that.
