General health

How many fillings do you have and how old are you?

I was talking to someone today about dental health and that my children's teeth are a big concern of mine after being drilled many times as a child myself.

I am convinced that lots of people around my age (38) have lots of fillings because of an over-zealous filling policy dentists seemed to have in the 70's and 80's. So, please humour me and tell me your age and the number of fillings you have.

It's not scientific, I'm just wondering!

Cheesy grin for you!

I’m 50 and have 4 fillings, a horrible ugly crown and have had two molars removed.
I hate the state of my dental health.
Had perfectly normal teeth until I had my dc at 32 and 35, afterwards my teeth basically fell to pieces!
If I ever win the lottery I will spend a small fortune fixing it all.

I didn't visit a dentist at all until I was 20...

I now have 8 fillings and one missing tooth.

I think those things might be linked. I'm now late 40s.

16 I’ve had about 6. parents weren’t educated or strict with me, still have all my teeth, just got fillings. they gave me a dummy when I was little and drinks of coffee with sugar in a bottle, seriously messed up my teeth! however it seems to be unnoticeable for now. I now brush three times a day and avoid sugar when I can.

I think it's the reduction of actual sugar in food and fluoride in some water supplies, myself.

I have cut to the end. I do medical imaging as a job, and it has been my experience that you can draw a line through, about 40 years old.

Everyone older than that has fillings, few under that, bar the odd occasional one or two (vair MC area, btw).

Personally, my 57 year old mouth looks like a Cornish tin mine... and both my (RIP) parents, born 1933, had falsies by 35, to 40.

I'm 43 and I don't have any filling and not lost any teeth. They are strong and I've never really had a problem like tooth ache etc

Got to the dentist every few years so to be sure they are all ok

I'm forty and all my back teeth have fillings and one at the front. I'm Scottish and tooth care really wasn't a thing in my family. My children are teenagers and have none so I've done better with them but to be honest it really makes no difference to my life.

45 and had my first filling last year. That said, it probably wasn’t necessary but the dentist here (I live in the USA) knew that I hadn’t used up my employer’s dental allowance for the year so it wouldn’t cost me much. It was an insurance fiddle, I’m sure.

None. I'm 38.
I think it's genetics, I don't do anything special just brush them twice a day.

Late 40’s and have 6. Many of them really big. All from childhood butcher dentist.
Have had no new fillings since I was 14 but the teeth he butchered treated are now seriously weakened Angry
