My friend with cervical cancer is finishing her treatment tomorrow, yippee! So she'd be very pleased to know that the MN drive to get us all with our legs in the air (so to speak) continues!

Hmmm i was suppost to have mine today but started Af yesterday so not anymore, will have to rebook while i am at docs in an hr, i HATE smear tests & am well overdue they scare me but i will try & push myself, the only thing that gets me there is my kids otherwise i would not bother going at all.

Mine is due but I cannot book it because of constant bleeding following insertion of implanon. But I have booked an appt with Family Planning clinic re problems with implanon. But that is not until 7 April so smear will be well after that.

Thanks Twiglett for this thread. Reading it yesterday made me make an appointment for a smear, which I've been putting off for about 4 months.

Report
LIZS · 21/02/2006 14:07

ok just went for my appointment and the temporary nurse wouldn't do it cos it isn't a full 3 years since my last one and they try not to do them more frequently unless there is a problem. So I'll have to wait a few months and go back. My Mirena will have been in 5 years later this year so I'll probably have it checked/changed at the same time.

Think you had an answer from mears last night dear that you really have nothing to fear. Mears is a midwife. Will try to link it for you.

Here you go dear.

Agree about giving too much personal details here.

Hi Lynne - looks like a lot of us are in the same situation, have you had one before?

ps - try not to post too much personal info (full name etc..) as it's not always safe on the internet

I'm going on Monday. Don't like having it done, but I'm on regular follow-ups after a CINIII and microscopic cervical tumour! So I make sure I go for my check ups - pleased to report that so far all clear and hopefully will be this time too.
