I am Rh- and after ds (first pregnancy) I did not need anti-D as he is also Rh-. Since ds I have suffered 2 miscarriages, the first wasn't 'medically diagnosed' as in I found out I was pg 5 wks after splitting with my partner (7ish wks pg) and I am ashamed to say I didn't do a thing about it. At the time I didn't give a thought to being Rh-. I had a miscarriage at 16.5 wks in April this year and was not offered any advice on my Rh-/Anti-D situation but I know I didn't have the anti-d inj. Due to the fact that I do not know whether either baby I lost could have been Rh- should I have received it and can this cause problems if I get pg again? TIA

Thanks coathanger, sorry to hear of your loss. I have been told I will be monitored carefully in future pregnancies but have not asked about this at the docs.
Hope you're okay and the best of luck for the future. xx

LRKIDS - I had a MC 8 weks ago at 7 weeks Pg. I too am Rh-neg and I wasn't offered the anti-D jab either. When I told my GP she said it was negligent of EPU not to have checked out my blood group an offer me Anti-D. Gp also said that if you don't get the jab within 72 hours of MCing, then its useless. So i had to have blood tests to see if my blood has started making antibodies. Luckily the first lot of blood tests came back negative. I will have to have these tests repeated to make sure, but fingers crossed things will be ok.

The risks of having antibodies are to the baby. I don't know the ins and outs very well, but I think there is a slightly increased chance of MC if you conceive a Rh + baby. You would have to monitored closely through any further PGs but all pregnant RH- mums have the anti-D jab twice during PG now so that probably helps.

I'm sorry I don't have much information. Perhaps go and talk to your GP and arrange so bloodtests.

I hope everything goes okay for you in the future LRKIDS. I'm sure things will be fine. XXX
