Obv I thought I knew, but now I am floundering.

What is my ISP? ANd are they my boardband provider? and are they the ones who I need password/username stuff for wireless networking?

Oh I bloody give up, wireless networking is silly hard, and it should not be.

Oh dear. Orange. If you have a Livebox this -makes- -things- -easier- complicates things further by trying to manage stuff itself that it should let you do.

You need the Livebox set up CD and the wireless network key which is on a sticker on the bottom of the Livebox.

Your Internet Service Provider is the organisation that provides your broadband internet service - yes it is the same thing.

You set up security for your wireless network yourself. Wireless networks don't have usernames, they just have something called a Pass Key.

Your ISP's web site should explain how to do this, but if you have Windows XP I am afraid it is harder than it should be - that is Microsoft's fault, nothing to do with wireless networking itself.

And stop casting slurs on scientists.
