I've been in my current job going on three years now. Four years ago I finished uni, achieving an Honours degree (four year course) in an Allied Health Science.
I work in a health and social care setting, and it is desirable for all those in my workplace to work towards an SVQ 3 (for myself) or SVQ 2 (for those in lower positions). I think this is redundant as I have already worked towards an honours degree in a (sort of) relevant subject. If I had chosen to not stay on at uni for my fourth year, I would have graduated with a degree in health and social care. From that, I feel doing an SVQ 3 in Health and Social care is a bit pointless, however my boss has just said 'everyone needs to do it'.
I'm due to meet with the SVQ advisor next month, should I advise him on my current situation, basically going over my boss' head or should i just shut up and work towards it as my workplace are paying for it (although I do not get any paid time to work towards it, and will be doing a lot of it in my own time at home!)
Any advice?
