...not just food. aye right.

was looking forward to a bit of toast, picked up a slice of bread and a big, yellow, torn fingernail fell out. BLEEE! i'm not squeamish but am seriously squicked.

phoned M&S and they said i've to take it back to the shop and i'll get a refund and they'll investigate.

poor dd is yelling for toast, can't really go into why she's not getting any. think we're going out for brunch now.

Fingernails in a loaf..pah Last year I got mouse droppings in my M and S pizza! The little chap had really feasted on the cheese topping and shrink wrap plastic wrapper, then he had poo'd all over it and I went and bought it.

I got a new pizza (not sure I wanted one), a refund and then £25 of M and S vouchers through the post a couple of weeks later.

I've found a few hair in M&S salads before now.

I've heard tehy have their own internal food standards (or whatever)people, which other companies don't have...

I found a shard of plastic in an M&S chicken pasta salad a while back and they only gave me a refund! It was really sharp too!
We used to do our weekly shops at M&S- not anymore.

Relative is pretty senior in food, will discuss when I next see him (he'll be thrilled!) What type of bread was it??

Good innit?!

Sadly (or maybe not) I didn't create it! Am 'giving' it to MN to fight off trolls with!

well this is what pissed dh off tbh, we practically live opposite that bloody place so we spent FORTUNES in there (dh genuinely thinks that if it's got a 'wise buys' sticker on it, then it's a bargain) but the person still treated him like a wee bit of a prick.

i phones customer services this morning, was treated like a bit of a prick too if i'm honest.

Aitch call head office, they have enough problems at the moment with the credit crunch they will investigate and send you vouchers I'm sure. I have family working in M&S food, tis awful at the moment..

Mum found a screw in her Pizazz once. When they investigated it and confirmed it was from their machinery we got seven pounds worth of Walls vouchers which is quite a lot of ice-cream when you're 11.

I found a piece of jagged glass in my Fruit"n"Fibre once when I was 12 (actually had it in my mouth)...my mum complained, obviously, and we got....a free packet of Common Sense cornflakes. Woohoo.

if it's any concolation, if it was 'baked in' it will be sterile. But still gross.

arghhh....go to Trading Standards!
We had a bit of wood in a pie once (from Birketts, now Greggs!) and it was VERY thoroughly investigated.

I had a pack of M&S wine gums and one of the last ones in the pack had a wirey black hair embedded in it

I promptly packaged it up and returned it to their customer services dept with a letter detailing my complaint and they sent me an apology and a £25 voucher.
