I really enjoy a good revenge film. What are your favourites, any recommendations?
I just saw dead mans shoes this week, it was amazing.
Law abiding citizen is a good one too. Gerard Butler is in it which helps.
Kill Bill 1&2 also awesome.

Man on fire - good old denzel washington.

The Brave One is quite intense with jodie foster.

Would you count Heathers? Lots of revenge going on, and very, very funny (watched it recently, and I think it's stood the test of time well).

Definately law abiding citizen.

Also love the Punisher, one of the favourite revenge movies ever!

Maybe a little bit hardcore/gory but I spit on your grave was a pretty good revenge film. Second one slightly less so.

Not sure if Shawshank redemption counts but I like the revenge-y aspect of that one too.

Anyone ever seen the old Charlie Sheen film The Wraith (80'S )?

I also enjoyed Enough starring Jennifer Lopez (not everyone's cup of tea as an actress ).

Also the original Crow film with Brandon Lee - brilliant but tragic film because it was his last!Sad

Dead Mans Shoes. I love revenge films and this is my favourite. I've lent this DVD to a lot of people and they have all said they loved it and had to watch it twice.
Old boy is also good.

Get carter.. Yes! Can't miss that out. Love the soundtrack too.

You're probably right about lacking character development but I didn't notice really. All arty farty moody frenchness...Like bit of that now and again Wink

Yees Django was fantastic. Oh and 'Get Carter'.

RE: Page Turner, yes that's right, I remember now. Trouble was, it had no character development, she was the same at the end as at the beginning. Didn't see the point in it. The director made a film called The Child, which was much better I thought. No revenge though.

Django Unchained would get a big thumbs up from me.

Yeah I loved it but I like a bit of french drama. I find them refreshingingly amoral Grin

I don't remember all details but she stumbles as a child in her piano exam cos she's distracted by the famous pianist /examiner signing an autograph. She then becomes her page turner few years later and subtly sabotages the other woman's life. Sort of creeping menace type revenge.

Might go see if it's on Netflix actually...

Sourdrawers...are we on about same film? It's pyscological thriller rather than a bloody (in literal sense) revenge film I grant you, but would def say it's about revenge.

The Page Turner wasn't really a revenge film, and it was bloody awful! Point Blank by John Boorman starring Lee Marvin and Angie Dickenson is the best by a mile!
