It's sad this wax my first thought

I was waiting to book in for a hospital appointment this week. In front of me were two men asking for details of a female family members future appointments/scans.

Now clearly I don't know the details. This could have been an older woman/mum/grandma who had explicitly given permission for this information to be given out.

But I was struck that my first thought was that the men were controlling this female family member, that they had no right to this information, what if she was in hiding away from them & they would use this information to track her down. Has being on Mumsnet made me more suspicious or is this a reasonable thought process??

Sad you feel that way, my thought is she's lucky to have sons who care. Not everyone has a loving daughter with time to do these things. Dp looks after his aging mothers affairs

I would say being on mumsnet has made you more suspicious.
My grandmother had two sons (an no daughters) and in her old age they would have been the ones speaking to her doctors about scans, appointments , treatments or medications, etc. as she wasn't able.
Of course it could be what you suggest, but Occam's razor.
