How much would you expect to pay for piano lessons?

At the moment I pay £4.75 for 20 mins lesson at school for eldest dd (11), she's not progressed very well and is bored by the teacher (she is not alone in this). How much should I expect to pay for her to either go to some-one elses house or for some-one to come here? The only price I have so far is £16.50 for a teacher to come here for 30 mins. Compared to the schools price this seems astromnomical (sp??)

Between £20-£30 per hour depending on the experience/qualifications of the teacher.

£4.75 is extremely cheap and says to me that the lessons are ether subsidised heavily by the school or the teacher is unqualified.

I pay £13 per half hour, at the teachers home (which is just around the corner, and I leave them there).

£4.75 is very cheap, even for a school I think. I pay £8 for a 20 minute and £10 for a half hour instrumental lesson at school, although I do get free hire of one of the instruments too.

£15 for 45mins but I think it would normally be at least £25 possibly more- the teacher was new to the area and trying to drum up business, happily for us as she is very good.

That sounds about right Peacenow. It's what my sil charges iirc - we don't pay for our lessons :o
