(Leave voters welcome here to give reassurances too).

I am absolutely devastated about the vote and am so worried for my children's future in the UK being separate from Europe. I am worried for the following reasons:

The UK will be no more
House prices dropping
Unemployment rising
Less opportunity for movement within Europe, particularly for my children
How we will be viewed by the rest of the world
Rise of extreme right wing
Boris Johnson becoming PM and forming close bonds with Trump if he is voted in

We are thinking of moving overseas - we have the opportunity to do this available now.

Would you if you make the move in light of the result if you were me, or someone please tell me everything is going to be ok.

Thanks

I want to, but not sure it's possible. If only Ireland would give you a passport if you had Irish great-grandparents I'd be laughing. I'm extremely concerned about the UK's future, for myself and my DD.

I'd be considering it if I was single. I speak Italian so I'd probably look at going there. Or to Ireland, where I think I might be entitled to claim dual nationality via my grandparents.

As it is, I'll be keeping a close eye on things and looking into whether I can indeed get Irish citizenship and if so, whether DS will also be able to. If he can I think I'll go for it, so he can have an EU passport and the opportunities that go with that.

I voted Remain and I won't be moving.

I don't think it will all turn out so bad. There a lot of countries where a lot of things are a lot worse than the UK. I'm struggling to think of anywhere I'd really like to live aside from my country.

But I have lived abroad, and it is great. Go for it if you want to.

One thing that really pisses me off (amongst many) is that when Scotland had it's independence vote they were told they would be able to have a British or Scottish passport. I want an EU passport, I don't believe I have that option.

Yes, but moving to Canada has always been on the cards, it was just a matter of when. I wanted to wait until I could FINALLY qualify for a British passport as I wanted the benefits of having a European passport, but that's no longer a benefit for me and I'm quite keen to get back to my family sooner rather than later.

However, a big part of me thinks it's the very wrong time to 'bugger off back home' as I really do think the UK will be fine long term, and it needs people like my husband and I to stay, continue working, paying tax, and spending our money here to keep the economy going. I fear that a max exodus of the very wrong sort is coming and it'll be even more of a shock to the country.

Still, we will be going. But then, we are a multinational family and Canada is my home as much as the UK is my husband's.

Yes - EU citizen here. I haven't lived in my country of origin for 30 years and have been in the UK for 20 years. DH is Irish, our children were born here. We've always loved the inclusive, multicultural society we've felt completely part of here. That changed suddenly and irreversibly on Friday. I know a number of EU citizens who all feel the same.

We've started planning and will hopefully be out of here in 18 months' time. Luckily we have transferable skills (and are high rate tax payers). I've felt sick to the pit of my stomach for the past three days but am starting to feel quite excited. Onwards and upwards!

Yes and I have actively looked into it. I really don't want to go but I value my freedom to roam more. My parents will probably come with us if it's possible meaning we'll shut down two businesses and up sticks and restart in another EU country.

I am a European and I want to remain that way. The rise in xenophobia is shocking and disgusts me.

I'm in Scotland, so I'll wait and see how it pans out here. But if we do end up out of Europe with no second indyref, then we will move away. We are starting to make plans.

We were thinking of moving anyway, but the Brexit vote may have thrown a spanner in the works (in the short term at least) as the pound had been dropping and we would want to take our savings with us. On the plus side - if house prices fall we may finally be able to afford something

Yes. We are actively planning to move to Canada. We had looked into it before our son was born but there is every reason to go now. Our qualifications are recognised there and they need skilled labour.
We have no inclination to live in this country anymore.

I'm mid degree & dd1/2 are in exam years so not practical to us. If Scotland leave then we may go there. Also considering New Zealand but it's a bit pie in the sky as it doesn't fit my dds ambitions

I have never properly considered it until the vote. Now we are both looking into it. No idea if we will actively ever go, but might have to if husband's job is re located.

I would in a heartbeat if I were able. Elderly parents prevent it being a realistic option.
