Scam buyer has left me negative feedback

The other day I listed an item on Ebay and was pleasantly surprised when it sold instantly. I was ready to create a label but noticed there was no buyer name, which I found a bit strange and it prompted me to have a look at the feedback. The buyer's feedback was 100% positive however when I actually read it, a lot of it was from sellers warning not to sell to this person due to them being a scammer, and the majority of the feedback left for others from this buyer was negative! I chose to cancel the order citing a problem with the address, as I was not comfortable selling to someone who would either 1) steal the item and send back an empty box 2) lie and say the item was damaged, or 3) just leave negative feedback for the sake of it (he or she had left loads for sellers who 'didn't give any feedback' !!)
I was expecting a negative from this person and sure enough, I have been called a disgusting seller and apparently gave this person 'one of the worst experiences of my life' 😂I have responded to it but I asked Ebay to remove it and said that the person is a scammer, but they said no rules have been broken. Unfortunately this has now left me on 97% and I worry it will impact my sales. I don't rely on ebay for income but it's good for having a clear out and I'm a bit miffed that this person has been able to get away with it. Anything I can do? Or just seethe for the next 12 months!

That is actually ridiculous...given their proven history - that eBay won't remove the feedback and do something about them.

I would keep at them.

And maybe sell on vinted - no fees.

I can't seem to sell on there but others on here do well.

Tell us the name of the seller, OP? I want to block them.

Yes OP please tell us the name, it will protect other sellers i want to block this buyer too if you can share the more that block the better. Its ridiculous that ebay allow this.

Hello. I have started a thread Rude message and bad review from buyer | Mumsnet where I got a rude message from a buyer, and the buyer has left a bad (and untruthful) review.
Nobody replied.

Do I just suck it up, or shall I take my custom to Vinted?

Just leave a factual reply to the feedback. 1 negative usually won’t people off, especially if there’s a reply explaining the situation.
