Hi,
Got first collaborative meeting with STBXH and solicitors in a couple of weeks.
One sticking point will be splitting the equity of the house. No mortgage. H has been “strongly advised” that 50/50 unlikely as he sold his first flat and put in £160k into our first marital home. My solicitor says 50/50 likely due to my loss of earnings, pension, promotion opportunity while not working and working part time raising the children. Should also mention that H has £70k of “gifted” money squirrelled away that I can’t touch so he will have absolutely no money worries.
Anyone got any experience of this, and what kind of offer I can expect? Thanks

We’ve been married just over 12 years so a pretty long time. Also, am in Scotland which I think makes quite a big difference.

How long were you married? Firstly if there are children its about their needs so where will they live.

I think 50/50 likely after a long marriage as many couples enter relationships with unequal finances. I was the pre marriage wealthier partner and "lost" my equality in divorce.

Do you know the value of all assets, including pensions?
