Dementia-friendly colouring and puzzles

MIL has mixed dementia. She used to be a crossword fiend and has always loved doing the puzzles in the paper. She can no longer manage most of them - wordsearches are about her limit (as long as the words don't go backwards), codewords with someone helping. FIL gets agitated if she does the puzzles wrong.

I thought that she might enjoy some colouring and/or simpler puzzles. Can anyone recommend some good ones please?

I've just bought some small colouring books (bit bigger than A5) from The Range. Spiral bound at the top so will lie flat when colouring. One was nature/flower themed, the other had farms and buildings/landscapes. Quite simple images and can colour very simply, just adding small amounts here and there. So not too detailed, but also not child-like, which was important to Mum. £1.99 each.

If you have a printer look at printables on Etsy, you purchase a pdf file and print at home. They often come in big bundles for a very low cost. If she struggles with hand mobility you could print them big on A3 and get her some chunky markers which will be easier to hold.

We used the extra large print versions available on Amazon.- mixed puzzles and word searches. They may be suitable for you. Can’t advise on colouring as they weren’t mil preferred choice. But may be some of the childrens versions would suit?
