Having to start a thread because no one else will understand my deep joy at Cancellara's first victory of the season (his last season Sad) Grin Bike Grin. Lovely, lovely Spartacus

Also I bought a road bike, having controlled my arthritis with some epicly good drugs and more amazingly yoga I am taking to the road with intent this year with the plan to do a 50k ride by the end. If my beloved can ride with fractured vertebra so can I! Should be interesting I am NOT getting clip in pedals though. Nope.

Wow, chapeau for keeping his head with a bag lodged on his wheel! At the moment I am all "my wheels are too thin, the road is too narrow, that car passed within 3 kilometres of me, I need to turn in a mile, eeeeeek" a plastic bag would be the end of me. Being clipped in? HA!

oh, and MrSlant - sort out the aversion to being clipped in? It's as easy as...something which is really easy. once you hit the ground a couple of times

is it to early to mention the extra baggage thing for the Valencia winner? For that time out on his own, and with the added distraction it was def. chapeau to him. Bike

Now this evens things up....

Gracie Elvin from Orica-AIS, my tweet friend, training hard on the rollers as she has a broken hand after a fall. That's sexy.

and here she is on our first date....

Fabulous bit of anatomy research there Felicity, also a great way to critique new kit. It looks like he is sponsored by Lidl unless you zoom in to his bum. Such a shame we have to do that for accuracy. Plus he loves his hair you know. Grin

Felicity that is a very impressive gluteus maximus right there. The human frame is indeed fascinating Wink

Glad you enjoyed it!

Just putting this here for no particular reason

I too am old enough to be his mother, but that doesn't prevent me in having a sporting and artistic interest in the human frame.

Thank you for the heads up about the documentary Felicity, watched it this afternoon with DS1. The technology they have! Although I wanted to tell them to all get to bed when they were still up so late. Also in random Cancellara googling to find out if he's married discovered that DS1 is the exact same height and weight as him which made him very happy Grin.

Ha, good point, when I went to spin, I went to spin IYSWIM, there was no giving a damn about how I looked or buying the latest kit I just wanted to go crazy on a stationary bike. Our absolutely lovely neighbour who takes DS1 with him for club rides on the other hand looks like a walking billboard! Which goes nowhere in explaining why I feel the need to check out how hard Kittel has been working on his muscles out off season Blush. I too am old enough to be his mother

Grin

I was at a spin class a couple of weeks ago, mainly female and realised just how much output they did with no self-consciousness. Just hot and sweaty. Yet a couple of blokes I know won't go out for a mild trot in the fresh air without the latest gear and unnecessary bottles of water and a sweat band.

So this is what we have come to...Smile

on the other hand, I'm not so sure there is nothing so aesthetically pleasing than a woman riding a bike. No matter how big, ungainly or sweaty. Just doing it is enough to be really attractive. Blush.

I know, I sort of feel I shouldn't be admiring that very fine musculature because I'm old enough to be his mother Shock!

He's looking, umm, very fit. It's so hard to not sound pervy whilst admiring his musculature you know.

Didn't realise Dubai was on until I saw it had recorded today. Just watching Stage 3 now. Nice to see my love Kittel riding Grin

Didn't see the crash in Dubai but loved the result in Valencia too, was cheering the winner on all the way up that hill in the last km. He's hopefully coming into good form for the classics, and will have better luck this year Shamrock

Shame about the crash in Dubai. But I was chuffed with the result in Valencia.

We followed it on twitter at work. Managed to get the office computer to allow us to look at the shots of the winner. Anyone who tells you we adjusted the lighting for optimal viewing obviously didn't realise we had just finished our allotted time for the bright daylight lamp, it wasn't affecting screen viewing at all.
