Feel the retro vibe both! It was written by a rank Imperialist, of course .
One of you needs to be vaguely familiar with the plot if only to chortle at how cleverly they have taken all the best bits from the Hitchcock film. The programme has some excellent notes on this.

Ooh, I'm glad there are others that love it. My brother told me about it because he went with his girlfriend - he is SO not into musicals - no way would I have thought he'd go to a show like this but he loved it.

Anyway, each to their own but I now have defying gravity as my ringtone

it was because her sister had no arms

and because her lover was bludgeoned to death in a flat

I had no idea this was based on a book , what, a prequel to The Wizard of Oz I assume?
I saw an except on the Oliviers I think. Good singing and staging but the score wasn't my kind of music theatre to be honest.
Batters, have you taken your dd to the 39 Steps yet btw (or your ds blu). Ds nearly combusted with laughter

Cod - you are baffling me.
Is your point that works of fiction should not centre on witches? Or feature them in any way?

Where do you stand on things like 'The Witches of Eastwick'? Cher didn't wear a pointy hat or a cloak, did she? Perhaps instead of being withches that darryl whatsit (JN) controls, they should have been 'the call-centre women of eastwick' and how he made them all do odd things like call people about conservatories and £800 vacuum cleaners and pyramid selling scams.

musical production totally different to book IMO, more made of relationship between glinda and elphabah and bizarre fiyero love triangle. plus they make BOQ into the tin man and some other bits that i won't mention because they're a bit spoilish.

we all loved it. £20-ish each for tickets last easter, up in the gods. ds2 is determined he will play Elphabah when he grows up. had to paint him green last halloween.
