The rise in the hero complex

There has been a certain rise in people claiming they are or thinking they are heroes. "We are saving lives".

That basically involves an avid desire to report anyone that dares to leave the house, police everyone else, dismiss the worries and concerns of others, ridiculing, attacking, bullying and emotionally blackmailing anyone who struggles, some kind of irrational fear/hate of children and gleeful virtue signaling about how much better they are at staying home. Abusing key workers that in their eyes are not doing their job,for doing their job, following guidelines(made up or official) ,not following guidelines,in the wrong clothes etc.

There are people who are seriously struggling right now, emotionally, financially, mentally, physically etc. People that are becoming more and more vulnerable as more restrictions and public policing come in. People that have killed themselves due to the situation we are in.

They are not heroes, they are not saving lives.

That's pigeon 's fault. I probably would've gone with the same title too if it wasn't for her.

I'm a cleaner in usual life. I normally run around like a lunatic getting everything done. So to just stop suddenly is very weird. I at least have dogs so can get out, I really am meeting a friend today when I take dogs out. Neighbours are all lovely, I've no massive money worries yet (maybe in about 10 weeks if this goes on) I'm simply unused to doing virtually nothing. Always looked forward to retiring, rethinking that now. So will post pic of dogs on other thread as this ones as good as full.

That must be hard, especially after two weeks. Do you have any projects or things to occupy yourself with? Friendly neighbours?

I assume he's not much company after a 10 hour shift either.

Is your workplace shut now? What do you do? I miss work too.. it's a weird feeling.

Princess no I'm with a man who is a key worker (hes not a dr or owt) and fuck me im so bored. He's out 10 hours a day, but actually if he was here I'd have buried him by now. I only work part time in a shitty job but still I'm missing it.

Damn I missed ALL the claps last night. For clarity, right now I'll take all the children, everyone's, as many as can fit in my house. It's a three bed semi, so use your own judgement. Thinking on, it's nice outside too and I've got tents.
Send a child with a tent and some food. Not sure I've got enough food for all these children especially the slightly older but not so helpful one (that kind tend to eat tons)
At least I'd have a reason to get up and a fuck load of noise waking me up, with all those naice children in the garden.
Anyway am off to the next thread for more fun and sarcasm.
